"WOULD YOU FIRE A PR AGENCY THAT DELIVERED MORE THAN 130 POSITIVE PR PUBLICATIONS WITHIN JUST TWO MONTHS PROVIDING A REACH OF 70 MILLION ON A MODEST BUDGET OF 4,000 EUROS IN TOTAL❓

In a situation where you had just entered a new market (Poland obviously) and no one knew the name of your brand or fully understood what exactly you were offering because it was a new technology.

That sounds like an odd business decision, right❓

And yet it happened to us just now.

I've been in business for 20 years now.

I've experienced different situations.

Different words I've heard.

Our agency was once fired when Poland was the only market where PR activities were conducted and at the same time there was business growth and the client was very satisfied with our efforts.

Another client terminated cooperation with us even though we were doing wonders for them - delivering PR publications in the largest Polish media, and influencer collaborations that resulted in viral coverage in top-tier traditional media. To this day, I don't know what we did wrong or could do better.

After 20 years in the PR business, nothing surprises me anymore.

I JUST WISH I COULD SLEEP AND MOVE OVER THOSE WORDS AND SITUATIONS QUICKLY.

It's good that there are such things as:
• Ashwagandha.
• Meditation.
• Relaxation techniques.
• Long walks in the woods with a dog.

"I want to do something perfectly, I thought to myself yesterday after visiting the National Museum in Wroclaw, on the walls of which I admired works by Malczewski, Chelmonski, and Boznanska, the very best Polish painters.

I HATE THE CONSTANT MISTAKES, SHORTCOMINGS, MISUNDERSTANDINGS, AND SLIPS THAT ARE SO INHERENT IN THE PR INDUSTRY.

DESPITE MY BEST EFFORTS, I CONSTANTLY SEE STUMBLING BLOCKS, PROBLEMS, AND IMPERFECTIONS IN WHAT WE DO AS A BUSINESS.

WE SHOULD DO THIS OR THAT BETTER, CERTAINLY FASTER, HAVE MORE DEFINED PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES, PROVIDE EVEN BETTER RESULTS, AND HAVE BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Such were my thoughts yesterday on the way from the Museum to the main square in Wroclaw in search of a decent pasta carbonara and a latte just before returning home from a business trip.

But, these painters must have also been negative about their work, their achievements, they had failures, and dissatisfaction with themselves, today we would say they suffered from imposter syndrome.

And then enlightenment came.🤭🙃

Do your job, Matilda, do your job, the ideal will never be achieved, but how many will you help along the way.

🤳Influencer at the top of... the list of the least respected professions.

📃According to this year's fourth edition of the "Ranking of the prestige of professions and specialties" prepared by SW Research, Poles remain quite consistent in their perception of online creators.🇵🇱

⚠️This is not the first time that influencers have found themselves in one of the last places among professions in terms of prestige. According to the study, this profession is respected and appreciated by only 12% of surveyed Poles.

▶️YouTubers received almost the same amount - one percentage point more. Online creators are rated even worse than political party activists (14%) and members of parliament (20%).

➡️On the other hand, top of the list of the most respected professions was the firefighter. This is the fourth year in which the profession of firefighter has been the unrivaled winner. As many as 84% ​​of Poles have a high level of trust in this profession. The next three places are for medical professions - paramedic (82%), doctor (75.5%) and nurse (75.2%).

➡️➡️ The biggest drops in trust compared to last year were noted by farmers (down 6 positions), IT specialists (-4 positions) and business trainers (-4 positions). In turn, ministers (+5), entrepreneurs (+5), workers (+3), judges (+3) and cleaning workers (+3) took a higher position than in 2023.

✅Influencers and YouTubers have landed in the inglorious last places on the list for the second year. Both professions have been assessed negatively since the first edition of the ranking.

📍Does this mean the imminent end of influencer marketing❓

🆗Not quite.

🔎Marketing research, based on cooperation with Internet creators, indicates that this type of brand promotion is doing well in Poland. Brands are allocating increasingly larger budgets for influencer marketing. Although influencers evoke negative associations in Poles, there are still many creators whom consumers simply trust.

🇵🇱 As many as 63% of Poles want to work four days a week instead of five – according to a study by the Ariadna National Research Panel. In turn, exactly half of the people surveyed believe that a four-day work week should be introduced.

🔝The biggest fans of this idea are young people, between 18 and 34 years of age. It turns out that 74% of people in this age group would like to work one day less. A four-day work week is also more attractive to people with higher education.

💡There are many ideas on how to introduce such a solution without reducing employee productivity.

➡️The study also shows that the vast majority of respondents would prefer to work 10 hours a day, four days a week. This means maintaining 100% of their current salary, but extending the working day by 2 hours. 24% of the people surveyed are supporters of reducing their salary by 20% and maintaining an eight-hour work day.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Poles were also asked how they would like to use an additional day off during the week:

🟢 35% – spending time with family and children,

🟢 31% – trips and sightseeing,

🟢 15% – additional paid work.

⬆️This is very interesting information, especially for companies operating in Poland and employing Polish employees. The introduction of a systematic four-day work week means a lot of challenges in terms of team management. It may be necessary to hire additional employees to maintain the current efficiency of the workplace.

➡️➡️If changes in Polish labour law occur, it will certainly not happen in the near future, but will be a long-term process.

✅However, it is worth being aware of how Poles' approach to their working time is changing. Two years ago, similar studies indicated much less support from Polish employees for such changes.

💫🇵🇱The mood of Poles in terms of consumer attitudes is the highest in years. In May 2024, the GfK – a NIQ Company Consumer Sentiment Barometer - was 3.6 points.

➡️ This is an increase of 2.3 points compared to the previous month and at the same time the highest result since 2019.

📊This is a surprising result - especially since residents of most EU countries are still in much worse moods. Meanwhile, Poles are satisfied with most of the issues that serve as barometer indicators, such as the economic situation in the country, or their own wallets.

🗓️In May 2023, the components of the barometer were much worse. We assessed our economic situation from the last year at -10.5 (now it is 5.7), and the assessment of the future situation in the country at -24.5 (now it is -5.7).

🙎Currently, men are in the best consumer moods, as well as young people aged 15-29. In comparison, people aged 50-59 and over 60 have the lowest satisfaction scores.

▶️It is clear that this year's positive barometer result is driven by young Poles. These are often consumers who do not yet fully manage their finances and are financially dependent on their parents. It is nothing new that our consumer optimism decreases with age.

➡️➡️However, this does not change the fact that young people are an important group of buyers, and more and more companies notice that young people currently look at the market optimistically and are meeting them with their actions.

💲 The salary is the most important aspect that Poles consider when making career decisions. This is the result of the study "New trends in recruitment - new expectations" conducted by Pracuj.pl on the occasion of Labour Day. 🇵🇱

🙋57% of Poles participating in the survey admitted that salary is one of their most important factors when choosing a workplace. Satisfactory remuneration is the main factor that motivates us to change and encourages us to work in a chosen company.

➡️➡️ In second place, Polish employees indicated stability and security of employment, which are very important for 41% of respondents. Poles do not like "junk" contracts and appreciate it when an employer offers them stable employment.

➡️➡️➡️ The podium of Poles' priorities in the workplace is rounded off by a friendly and motivated team. This answer was given by almost 3 out of 10 Poles interviewed. This is more than work-life balance, which was indicated by 28% of respondents.

👌 The atmosphere in the office is also more important to us than the possibility of professional development (28%), flexible working hours (24%), or the ability to work in the desired mode, e.g. remote, stationary, or hybrid (20%).

✅ The list of the 10 most important issues ends with:

🟢 Co-financing for courses and training (16%)
🟢 Non-salary benefits such as medical care or sports card (14%)
🟢 Support for young parents, such as additional leave or kindergarten funding (10%)

✳️ Even though employers try to outdo each other in offering Poles a variety of benefits, it turns out that the most important thing for us is the basics, i.e. earnings, stability, and a friendly atmosphere.
