Our "guest week" ended with a lot of active-learning.
First a case on off-shore wind by Emiliano & Björn, b29. Followed by a workshop to practice materiality assessment led by Sara & Thorge, b30. The sustainability reporting-focus was then rounded off together with Cynthia Coulombe, b26, who shared the PWC practitioner view to this topic. Business is clearly challenged by the new EU legislation.
And of course some snowball fights in between in the Lund winter weather!

Another visitor- and reflection-rich day in class for our b30 students. Karen Basiye, b13-2, shared an inspiring insight on what telecom business can do to make lives better in East Africa. Rowan Drury, b26, discussed the intricacies of greenwashing and Jonelle & Justine from b29 presented on the upcoming Green Claims Directive :)

Our first-year students, b30, have worked their way through most of the fundamentals semester. Presently they are in their first business course where they yesterday got a chance to meet and talk with an experienced CSO and board member: Pia Heidenmark Cook from b2. Great discussions! :)

We proudly note that we have our Ukrainian alumna Iryna Stavchuk, batch 10 in our Master in Environmental Management and Policy, on the BBC 100 most inspiring and influential women 2023 list. Way to go, Iryna :)

MESPOM growing up! The graduation of batch 17 of our joint European programme makes it 18 and no longer a kid. Celebrated in a vineyard in Vienna along with families and friends of the happy graduates. We are super proud of our fresh graduates and of the programme going strong. Go MESPOM! And best wishes to b17! :)

The green reconstruction of Ukraine was the topic discussed today. A task that is as massive as it is important.

Thanks to our alumn Iryna Stavchuk for sharing real insight from her roles in the Ukrainian Ministry for the Environment and, currently, at the European Climate Foundation. Discussion led by our own prof Oksana Mont.

We look forward to contribute in shaping Ukraine as a future sustainability role model! :)

The IIIEE proudly presents the graduates of batch 28 in our Master in Environmental Management and Policy. The ceremony was held in the university aula accompanied by family and friends - all in amazing summer weather.

The guest speaker was our alumn Iryna Stavchuk, former deputy environmental minister of Ukraine and now in charge of Green reconstruction of Ukraine at the European Climate Foundation.

We are proud and wish the fresh graduates success in their careers :)

Something unusual just took place at the iiiee. One of our towers was brought down as part of the renovation of our building. In pretty good condition - the real problems lay beneath the actual tower cap :)

Our friends from University of Virginia are back with another student team. Number 8 in the fine history of IIIEE-UVa cooperation. Very welcome!
The teams will this year work on real-life tasks for Tailor Store, Mossagården, Roots of Malmö, and the National Office Sustainable Public Procurement. Good luck with the projects! :)

Spring blossom and renovation update!
We are wrapped up, for another year or so, with real renovation work now on-going. Noisy at times. Still surprising to see people outside the window.
The Spring is just amazing right now - just what we deserve after a long dark and cold period. Lund at its best! :)

Our 13th Alumni Conference was a great success. We just about fit into the building with 150 alumni and in total 250 persons attending. Quite a blast after the pandemic years!

A great use of 2,5 days, including sessions, fikas, networking, innebandy, flag parade, dinner & dance. We also hosted a unique catch-up graduation ceremony for b25 who got theirs lost in the pandemic. A wonderful vibe in the house!

Warm thanks to the IIIEE Alumni Association for the organisation of the event. This is indeed a unique network! Go IIIEE! :)

Another day of waiting - and then our biggest event of the year kicks in!

The 13th IIIEE Alumni Conference, gathering 150 of our one thousand alumni; with staff & students in total whopping 250+ participants!! 25+ of our student batches will be represented!

Networking, two full conference days, kardemummabullar, a catch-up graduation for batch 25 who were a bit unlucky with covid, dinner & dance! Arranged together with our wonderful IIIEE Alumni Network Association!

Seven MOOCs at the IIIEE since 2014 and almost 1,000,000 visitors and 200,000 participants from over 200 countries!!!

As part of the Sustainability Week 2023 in Lund, the IIIEE is hosting an event bringing presentations and a panel discussion on the role of lifelong learning for advancing sustainable urban solutions, focusing on Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

Join us to discover and discuss how we utilise digital learning platforms to advance sustainable urban solutions.

Björn Wickenberg (City of Malmö) will moderate and the presentations and panel will consist of Charlotte Leire (IIIEE), Jessika Richter (IIIEE), Carina Borgström-Hansson (WWF) and Kes McCormick (IIIEE).

As you can see we are increasingly being covered in scaffolding and soon the renovations will kick in. But for now we are looking forward to a nice Easter Break :)
