On 2 Sept, the Air Force Training Command (AFTC) received the Friend of the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) award from Guest-of-Honour, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. This award recognises individuals, groups and organisations that have contributed significantly to the cause of the SRC.

AFTC has been supporting the SRC’s blood donation efforts for 15 years. The RSAF is honoured and grateful for the partnership AFTC has forged with the SRC, working together on this humanitarian cause.

To commemorate our 56th anniversary, members of the RSAF Tribe and their families gathered today at the Air Force Training Command for some friendly competition and activities!

Last week, our airmen and women took part in the Community Stakeholder Day organised by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) at RAAF Base Pearce to engage with the local community and to thank them for their strong support and friendship.

The event saw around 70 guests, including key community leaders, high school students, and representatives from local youth groups.

This Teacher's Day, meet MAJ(RET) John Norfor, one of the RSAF's pioneer batches of local flying instructors who has gone on to train countless RSAF pilots over the years. Hear his story about the challenges of pioneering the training programmes and his passion for being a flying instructor!

Welcome to Singapore! Earlier today, the 航空自衛隊 Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) F-2s landed at Paya Lebar Air Base! They will be here over the next few days for a stopover, before continuing the journey to India for the Indian Air Force's inaugural multilateral Exercise Tarang Shakti. We wish them a successful and smooth exercise ahead.

This week, over 400 students from the National Cadet Corps (Air) [NCC(Air)] and Singapore Youth Flying Club (SYFC) across various schools joined us for the Flight Experience Programme (FEP).

Hosted by 112 SQN and 121 SQN, students experienced a flight on board our A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) and Fokker-50 Utility Transport Aircraft (UTA). They also had the chance to interact with our airmen and women.

We hope everyone had an enriching and fruitful experience!

Yesterday evening, our Specialist Cadets marched onto the Leaders’ Square at Pasir Laba Camp for the 60th Specialist Cadet Graduation Parade (SCGP).

This parade marks the completion of the 22-week Specialist Cadet Course, where graduands trained rigorously under realistic conditions to sharpen their expertise in their various vocations.

The Raptors have landed!

The U.S. Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) F-22s will be in Singapore over the next few days to conduct Dissimilar Air Combat Training (DACT) alongside our F-15SG and F-16 fighter aircraft, as well as Air-to-Air refueling training with our A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport.

The training, which will be conducted in the southern reaches of the South China Sea within international airspace, will allow our aircrew to glean useful tactical insights with our counterparts from the PACAF.

Last month, our Air Force Engineers from the Peace Carvin V (PC V) Detachment clinched the top prize in all three awards in the 366th Fighter Wing's Mission Generation Competition namely: the Dedicated Crew Chief Competition, the Weapons Load Competition, and the Jammer Competition.

Congratulations to the 66 graduates of the 03/24 RSAF Combined Graduation Ceremony! The ceremony took place earlier this week at the Air Force Training Command where the graduates received their vocational brevets and ceremonial swords from Chief of Air Force MG Kelvin Fan.

We wish all the graduates the very best in the next stage of their RSAF careers!

Four F-15SGs just arrived at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Pearce this evening.

The Fighter Detachment at RAAF Base Pearce will continue to provide valuable and realistic training opportunities for our air and ground crew. Once again, we extend our gratitude to Australia for their strong support and friendship, which has made this training detachment possible.

While we celebrate National Day at home, let’s take a glimpse at how our personnel based in overseas detachments are commemorating the occasion from afar.

Even though they are miles away, their hearts remain with us, showcasing their patriotic spirit in unique and meaningful ways. From pledge-taking ceremonies to communal gatherings, they’ve ensured that the Singapore spirit stays alive and strong, no matter where they are.

I am MAJ Ervin Ng "Vapour," Officer Commanding of 140 Squadron and an F-16 Instructor Pilot.

This is my second time participating in the National Day Parade (NDP). My first experience was in 2015, where I took part in the SG50 formation flypast. I am honoured to have been given the opportunity once again this year to be involved in the aerial display segment.

For NDP 2024, I am responsible for the planning and ensuring that our F-16 pilots are thoroughly prepared for the flypasts through rigorous training. We will be flying through the heartlands of Singapore in the Island Flypast segment and performing the "Salute to the Nation" bomb-burst manoeuvre over Padang. To commemorate 40 years of Total Defence, I will also lead a formation of two F-16s in a vertical climb over the Marina Bay area. Each of these manoeuvres requires discipline and precision to deliver the best show on 9 August.

I wish our nation a blessed 59th birthday and hope all Singaporeans enjoy continued peace and prosperity.
