BEing in a state of stillness is one of the guiding principles of Yin yoga. But practice principles aside, I like how it has evolved into a stance I adopt when things get out of hand. It keeps me sane when the world gets too crazy.

Today, as we turn green again, I took time to scroll thru the posts through covid in the past 3 years, before we decided to close the studio in Dec 2020.

This post put things to a standstill when we have to make the painful announcement to cancel all classes in view of the rising covid numbers.

Time heals, and yes indeed it will. I am glad that we have crossed paths, and am sure you have moved on one way or the another.

I hope the short experience we shared together has been usefulness (in some ways) in your life.

**COVID-19 updates**

🚫All classes will be suspended with immediate effect till further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. All membership expiry will be extended accordingly. Speak with us if you have any concerns.

📽We will provide details on our online classes soon. The fight against the virus is a long drawn battle, we need to fight it both physically and psychologically.

🧘🏻‍♂️Yin yoga is medicine to our body and mind in such trying times. I encourage you to continue your practice at home, this is the best time to own your practice. 🙏

Woke up with a sore lower back today. Dedicated a short Yin practice to myself this morning, and was rewarded with a liberated spine again.

A morning spent at Dharma Drum Singapore, supporting a group of elderly in a stretch class. It has been more than 2 years since I last taught a yoga class, it brought back fond memories. With gratitude 🙏

我们不着重予外在形体,
把标签撕掉,
重新来感受身体,
自在如也。

在欢笑声中,
我听到鼓励,也让我忆起从前分享瑜伽的欢乐。谢谢你们,我的收获远远多于我的分享。

Had a good laugh when I came across this comic strip. Non-striving is one of the biggest takeaway from my Yin practice, and it’s also one of the hardest to let go. We are conditioned to achieve in this over achieving world, sometime it’s ok to tell ourselves that it’s ok to be just ok.

We continue to practise, putting what we know into actions.

周日天,平常甚好。

病在古代叫做“失常”,病因叫“失节”,或者“失势”。那什么叫健康呢?健康就是“常”。太过,不及,都是失常。健康就是“平常”。

中医认为一切病先是神病,然后是气病,再到血病, 最后才到什么呢?形病。

疾病先从生命无形的部分,即从精神、信息的层面开始出问题;第二个阶段,到气的部分,能量格局和运行规律发生紊乱;第三个阶段,到有形的疾病层面。

很多病,都是从一个很大的烦恼或结开始的。但,心念一转,神气也就转了。

一切的源头,在于无形的思想、精神,然后才有了能量,然后才化生为物质。

真正的养生,是去感受自己。

In search of balance with Yin Yoga

The Be.Live Practice promotes sustainable physical and mental well-being through the practice of yin yoga. The practice of Yin Yoga starts with the awareness of our breath which raises the consciousness of our physical and emotional being. The Be.Live Practice builds a community of yin yoga practitioners, led by Jensen Ong, a Singapore-based yoga teacher with over 12 years of experience. Regular Yin Yoga practitioners "yinsters"​ become better listeners, wiser, gain a deeper understanding of themselves and become more curious about the world through the exploration of their own inner worlds.

Jensen is a 200-hours Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher having studied under a list of globally renowned yoga luminaries including Kate Greer, Peter Crowley, Kate O’Donnell and Richmond Dickson with Open Hearts Yoga School in Boston, Massachusetts. Jensen continued to study with Jason Crandall on Vinyasa flow sequencing. With an interest in body anatomy, he completed a 50hr Yoga Therapy Teacher Training with Christine Toong where he picked up alignment techniques to reduce muscular tension and discomfort for his students. He has also completed a 50hr Mindfulness Yin Yoga (正念阴瑜伽) Teacher Training with Chris Su where he dwelled deeply into the practice and teaching of mindfulness meditation within the disciplines of Yin Yoga. In 2018, he completed a 50hr Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Bernie Clark in Vancouver, Canada.

The Be.Live Practice offers a unique Yin Yoga experience, weaving Traditional Chinese Medicine knowledge and practice in the classes.

The Be.Live Practice currently holds regular classes at ARC380, 380 Jalan Besar Road, #06-01, Singapore 209000 which is walking distance from Bendemeer MRT Station (Downtown Line) and Lavender MRT station (Eastwest Line).
