The Muju Taekwondowon 2024 International Open Virtual Taekwondo Championships got underway today on with athletes from Singapore taking both the male and female individual golds on offer.

Around 50 athletes from Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Rwanda, and AIN are participating in the two day competition which showcases Virtual Taekwondo – a non-combat sport which replicates the movements of Taekwondo as athletes wear a headset and AXIS system to compete in a virtual space, regardless of age or gender.

10TH DAEDO TAEKWONDO OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

We are thrilled to announce the milestone 10th Daedo Taekwondo Open Championships! This year, we warmly welcome participants to the gem of Tampines: Our Tampines Hub. The championships will take place from December 6th to 8th, 2024, and will feature a range of exciting events including Poomsae, Kyorugi (U30), Kyukpa (U40), and Virtual Taekwondo (U40). In addition, a special Head-Coach Team Poomsae event will be introduced, allowing head coaches and participants to battle side by side for honours.

All participants will receive Daedo “basic” uniforms, and Daedo uniforms will be mandatory for the championships. The updated rules and regulations can be found below, and we encourage everyone to review the changes. Please note that only invited international teams will be allowed to participate in this year’s event.

In the lead-up to the championships, we are honoured to host Grandmaster Kim Kyungchan for a special two-day Poomsae Seminar on December 4th and 5th, 2024, in Singapore. Stay tuned for more details about this exciting opportunity.
