Ongoing reno for a flat at Telok Blangah

This boutique apartment in Telok Kurau is owned by our client, a restaurant owner.
Due to the hectic lifestyle, the brief given was to create a cosy, resort-like home with a modern twist while incorporating her own set of loose furniture.
This 3-bedroom apartment is transformed within a 3 month period.
Another quality project by AKDC.

Despite the size of this staff lounge, it is designed to be enjoyable, cosy and a place for staff to relax and have a simple meal together.

The layout is vital to create varied seating, such as high-counter, soft seating, and dining areas. It is highly functional and aesthetically pleasing. Mood lights create an atmosphere that is warm and comfortable. Some parts of the ceiling boards are replaced with plants to achieve a 'nature' look.

To design an environment that thrives, we need to dismantle our preconceived mindset about what is suitable. Instead, we need to listen to all stakeholders intently to know the problems we have to resolve before we talk about aesthetic.

Therefore, a good designer does not dictate. Our role is to enhance and problem-solve. Otherwise, we become redundant and obsolete.

The brief from the retired couple was to create a resort-style retirement home. The highlight is low maintenance. 😍 Plenty of time spent listening to the couple's needs.

Lots of natural materials such as wood, timber, stone etc. Ceiling beams throughout this three-bedroom apartment. Natural light and cosy tones and a major overhaul from its original state. There is no change in mood as you move from room to room.

This apartment has a great McRitchie Reservoir greenery view. An enjoyable project indeed!

This home is styled with an eclectic approach.

It is challenging because every piece of furniture here is not coordinated. It appeals to homeowners who get bored quickly with a fixed theme and layout. We celebrate versatility! Yet, the entire project can appear so harmonised😀

The most important part of this home is ambient; it involves general, task and mood lightings. One of the final additions is the TV wall backdrop - twilight textured wallcovering... calming to the soul.
