We recently celebrated a momentous occasion - Rotary's 119th Birthday and World Understanding and Peace Day. It's incredible to see how far we've come since Paul Harris and his friends laid the foundation in 1905, yet our journey towards global peace continues.
Clubs around the world came together to mark this significant day, hosting programs and activities centered on understanding and goodwill. From engaging discussions to international community service projects, the spirit of Rotary shone bright.

We had the privilege of visiting the Status of Women Association in Patronage (APSW) Emergency Home, a sanctuary for women and children facing unimaginable challenges.
π©βπ§βπ¦ The Emergency Home provides vital assistance to victims of forced prostitution, r**e, HIV/AIDS, abandonment, and various forms of abuse. Their dedicated efforts extend to the Children's Home within the facility, caring for young ones who have witnessed or experienced violence and abandonment.
π Proudly supporting this noble cause, our club is collaborating with the Rotary Club of Patumwan through a global grant project. Today, we contributed by sponsoring a meal for the children, a small gesture that we hope brings comfort and nourishment.

πβ¨ Reflecting on the Pan Borneo Drive: A Journey of Hope and Unity β¨π
From September 18th to 23rd, we embarked on a remarkable 6-day journey, the Pan Borneo Drive, covering a grueling 2000 kilometers from Tawau to Kuching. Along the way, we explored some of the lesser-known yet iconic gems of East Malaysia.
IPP Janice, PP Khush, and Rtn Elice, alongside 42 dedicated Rotarians from our district, united for a common cause - to 'Create Hope'. Together, we witnessed the power of collective effort and the impact it can have.
Our route led us through vibrant communities in Sibu, Sandakan, Bintulu, Sarikei, Brunei, and Kuching. DG John's vision of 'bringing the District to the clubs' came to life through activities like tree planting, connecting us with Rotarians from the clubs we encountered on our journey.
This was more than just a drive; it was a heartwarming experience of sharing, building meaningful relationships, and collaborating towards a greater good. Each interaction, each mile, brought us closer to our mission of making a positive impact in the world.
Here's to the spirit of unity and the hope we create together! ππ
π Reflecting on the Extraordinary PBM Experience in September 2023! π
The Pan Borneo Meet (PBM) held from September 15th to 17th, 2023, was nothing short of extraordinary! This event was more than just a conference; it was a captivating outdoor exploration of the beautiful Tawau. The theme of 'Balek Kampong' or 'going back to our roots' was interwoven into the very fabric of the meet. From open-air dinners to donning casual attire, every moment was an ode to reconnecting with our roots.
One of the most exhilarating moments was the invigorating hike up the hill to witness Tawau's tallest tree. It was not just a physical feat, but a collective venture into the heart of nature. The camaraderie and shared awe amongst us were truly something to behold.
In the heart of this grand adventure, we were truly blessed to have some of our very own remarkable members with us. IPDG Joanne Kam, IPP Janice Goh, PP Khush Dastoor, and Rtn Elice Foong infused our journey with their wisdom and camaraderie, elevating our experience and etching it into our memories forever.
We're left with a treasure trove of memories and a renewed appreciation for the stunning natural beauty of Tawau. Our hearts are full, and our spirits are lifted, thanks to each and every one of you who made PBM 2023 an unforgettable rendezvous.
Here's to the spirit of exploration, togetherness, and cherishing our roots! π³πΏ

Evening fellowship among members of the Rotary Club of Suntec City, SINGAPORE, other fellow Rotarians and friends on Saturday 8th Sep'23

Looking forward to meet Rotarians and Rotaractors from all over the word at the 2024 Rotary International Convention Singapore to be held during 25-29 May 2024.
Shape-shifting Singapore In June 1999, a year after I joined the staff of Rotary International, I attended my first convention. It was then that I first witnessed the global power of Rotary and made my first batch of Rotary friends. And it was then that I was introduced to Singapore for a second time.
Environment and Sustainability are one of the key themes of Rotary International this year and we at the Rotary Club of Suntec City, SINGAPORE, played our small part by engaging in a beach cleanup activity along with fellow Rotary Clubs from Singapore and were also joined by PP Farhat Danyal from Rotary Club of Sea Point.
We were also joined by Guests and their families, and this was also a good opportunity to engage the younger generations in an effort to inculcate the values of sustainability.
We at the Rotary Club of Suntec City, SINGAPORE had our club meeting on Monday 14th August.
We were joined by Past District Governor Lee Kong Hwee from Rotary Club Of Pontian, President Ricky Chau from Rotary Club of HongKong South, PP Farhat Danyal from Rotary Club of Sea Point Capetown, South Africa, Past President Nidhi Swaroop from the Rotary club of Raffles City and other guests.
The evening started with an update by President Rana Bhattacharjee of the recent club activities as well as upcoming events.
This evening was made special by the induction of three new members to the club Jovy Ho, Siriporn Papana and Anuraag Gupta, introduced by Ruby Chong and President Rana.
This was followed by a talk by PP Nidhi Swaroop on how health care services can be co created by the reimagination of patient experience. She talked about her personal journey and how that led to her setting up the Crohnβs and Colitis Society of Singapore.
There was the recognition of the new Paul Harris Fellows, Ruby Chong and Stephen Ong as well as the achievement of PHF+3 level by PP Mohan Narasimhan.
The evening concluded with fellowship among all members and guests.
As part of our approach to address mental wellness, members of the Rotary Club of Suntec City, SINGAPORE attended a musical on 4 Aug23.
This musical was special as it rekindles the memories of seniors who had lived through World War 2.
Their recollections, often painful, of the times they had gone through was a study of overcoming their fears, nightmares and mental anguish. Their final triumph of overcoming these challenges helped improve their mental wellbeing and coming to terms with themselves and others.
It was an experience for us baby boomers after the war and a lesson of the fragility of mental health.
On 31 July 23, we celebrated Nurses Day at SGH.
The Rotary Club of Suntec City, SINGAPORE joined other clubs to thank our nurses for their dedication in keeping Singapore safe.
Our Healthcare Heroes received gerberas from President Rana Bhattacharjee ,IPDG Joanne Kam, IPP Janice Goh and PP Khushroo Dastur.
On the afternoon of 22 Jul 23, members of Rotary Club of Suntec City, SINGAPORE and Rotary Club of Patumwan, D.3350, Thailand enjoyed a cooking demo by PP Teresa Lim.
Using a cooking aid, she showed how we can cook healthy and tasty food, fast!
We got to try the dishes of crispy baguette with curry chicken, 'man tou' with pumpkin soup and fried vegetables.
A culinary experience indeedπ
On Saturday 22 July 23, members of Rotary Club of Suntec City, SINGAPORE and visiting sister club, Rotary Club of Patumwan, D.3350, Thailand participated in a Racial harmony event organized by Rotary Club Of Novena -Singapore.
The aim was to create the longest mural drawing to enter the Singapore Book of Records.
It was fun using markers on softboard to create designs. Joining the mural with others to create the longest line was teamwork πͺ and creativityπ.
There were dance performances and yoga exercises to liven the event.
21Jul 23 was a special night for Rotary Club of Suntec City, SINGAPORE. It marked the installation of the new President Rana Bhattacharjee and his Board of Directors.
The event at NUSS Suntec City was graced by the Guest of Honor, DG John Chan ,First Lady Wee Peng ,Club PDGs and members from our sister clubs, Rotary Club of Patumwan, D.3350, Thailand, Rotary Club of Metropolitan HK ι¦ζΈ―ι½ζζΆθΌͺη€Ύ and The Rotary Club Of Kuching (RI District 3310).
The evening events unfolded with a review of the Club's achievements by IPP Janice Goh Lin. Contributions to the Rotary Foundation, service projects and membership increase led us to the Platinum Award in the Governor's Citation.
There was fun with bingo games with an appeal for fundraising for our service projects.
Instead of the usual entertainment we had a meaningful introduction to music therapy for mental wellness. It was an interactive session with dance and song.
Then came the formal installation with speeches from the DG and new president. Gift exchanges and speeches by our sister clubs ended an evening with Rotary ties to bind us.
