Dr May Eide is the resident braces and Invisalign dentist at Skye Dental. She is a UK-trained dentist, completing her Dental degree with Honours from the University of Glasgow, and her Masters in Orthodontics at the prestigious UCL Eastman Dental Hospital in London. Dr Eide was the UK Gold medal winner for her final Orthodontics exam with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and was awarded the prize for best Orthodontics specialty graduate from the Eastman for her year. Having more than 15 years of practice in Orthodontics exclusively, Dr Eide provides treatment for children, teenagers and adults. She is a Platinum Invisalign provider and is experienced in fixed and removable braces. Her passions are interceptive treatment for young children with Invisalign First, as well as complex teenage and adult orthodontic cases. Dr Eide and Dr Andrew aim to provide the best holistic dental care for all their patients at Skye Dental.

Last day of The 3 Masters course in Kuala Lumpur. I had the privilege of listening to 6 Masters of dentistry, not just 3! Ancora Imparo over-delivered on this. (And no, those are not the 3 Masters in the pic, that’s just Dr Andrew catching up with dental colleagues, Puei and Yu Han, of Henry Schein). It’s been a pleasure to visit this city and to attend this amazing course. P.S. The Petronas Twin Towers are pretty impressive in person.

A real pleasure to meet this dental master at The 3 Masters in KL. An even greater pleasure to have him sign his books for me. Lifelong learning is so important, always learning from others and applying it to your own work.

We were delighted to be paid a visit by our Korean dentists, Professor Meekyoung Son and Dr Ryeo Woon Kim. They travelled all the way from Seoul just to meet us and visit Skye Dental. It was a pleasure to have been taught by the esteemed Professor Meekyoung Son at the 3Shape Super Class International in Seoul just 1 week ago. Here’s to new friendships and meeting great colleagues in dentistry!

I attended an amazing course in digital dentistry in Seoul, with teachings from these 2 excellent clinicians, Dr Jaemin Lee and Dr Jaesok Kang, and many more lecturers. Here’s to continuing to develop professionally, all for the benefit of our great patients. And here’s to making new friendships with amazing dentists across the globe.

World Mental Health Day 2023

When speaking about mental health, oral health can sometimes get overlooked. However, poor oral health can directly impact diet and eating habits, which can affect your overall nutrition. Speech and self-esteem can be affected, which may lead to reduced social interactions or increased anxiety.

Conversely, people with poor mental health may find it difficult to maintain an effective daily dental care routine or accessing appropriate dental treatment. Furthermore, medications can cause negative oral side effects like dry mouth.

These problems can affect both younger and older patients alike.

Dr May is a firm believer in early orthodontic intervention where necessary, and yes, Invisalign is an option for many children! Dr May is a Platinum Elite Invisalign provider and her practice is solely in Orthodontics 🦷. She is a firm believer of prevention and as a member of The American Association of Orthodontists, she recommends an orthodontic assessment by age 7. At Skye Dental, Dr Andrew and Dr May work closely together to ensure timely referrals and intervention 💪🏻.
