👿 Sulfates in shampoos have been demonised by the “clean” beauty world. 😈
✨ Myth # 1 : Sulfates cause cancer or hair loss
Firstly, sulfates found in shampoos are in low concentration. Plus, they are unable to pe*****te deep into our bloodstream, neither are they left on the scalp for prolonged period of time to cause such adverse reactions. 🤦🏼♀️
✨ Myth 2: Sulfates are harsh and drying
💁🏻 Both sulfate-free and sulfate surfactants help break up oil and allow it to mingle with water so you can rinse it away and end up with clean hair or skin.
Whether a shampoo is drying or “harsh”, depends on the concentration of the surfactants vis-a-vis other hair and scalp-caring ingredients. 👍 NOT because if it contains sulfates or not 😂
