Artistic Expressions

In 2002, Artistic Expressions opened its doors with the intent of providing quality Speech & Drama programmes to children and adults.

We started out at Katong Mall (later renamed i12 Katong), then moved across East Coast Road, and now in a holding venue at Mosaic Play Academy@Joo Chiat Place.

It has been a good 21 years, and now it’s time to take a break from this industry.

Artistic Expressions will be closing its doors at the end of this year (2023).

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank each and every one of our students and parents for their unwavering support and belief in the school. Without them, the school would not have stood the test of time.

Most of all, we are grateful for letting us be a part of their child/ren’s learning journey.

May our paths cross once again in the future!

It is time to reveal your inner Jedi warrior.

Embark on an action packed mission as you create your own Jedi characters with distinct personalities and powers.

Hop onto the galactic starcruiser, battle against the dark forces, join forces with a legion of other warriors and create a galaxy of adventures.

Become a full Jedi knight when you present yourself and share your adventures to your intergalactic senate to be at the end of the workshop.

*Workshop will include a session on basic stage combat (kid friendly).

Drama with kids doesn't always have to be conducted at a scheduled time. All it takes is a little effort, creativity on your end!

Because parents should also be part of the learning process... and of course make storytelling more fun!

Jump, roll, skip, step over the waves. You can even turn it into workout!

Involve your children when you're preparing for a presentation. Let them listen to you. Allow them to give you feedback!

Or hone your skills by doing show and tell together.

Instead of always (and only) giving feedback or critiquing, lead by example by practicing with them.

Shopping doesn't have to be a boring affair... and it most certainly doesn't need to end with a meltdown.

Try these fun activities to keep your child engaged during your next trip to the supermarket!

Tell us how it goes!

How can we have fun with shoes?
One at time, pull the names of different types of shoes from a shoebox and pantomime putting them on and moving as if they were a character who will wear the shoes!

What else can we teach?
Teach kids a new phrase this week - To walk in someone's shoes.

What does it mean?
Simply put, to experience what someone went/ goes through in his/her life and show empathy.

How about an activity?
Choose a day in the week to encourage children to walk in the shoes of someone in the family.

Talk about what the lives of these people look like. For exampls, What is it like for daddy to go to work every day? What does that look like? How might he feel when he comes home at night? How might he feel as he interacts with you when you are acting good? When you are making poor choices? What does mommy’s life look like? What am I doing throughout the day? How does your behavior effect your mom? What is life like for your siblings? What is it like to go to school all day and then come home tired? What is it like to be the middle child? What is it like to be the littlest?

Remember to let them speak and give them time to reflect and respond. Remind them once in a while, throughout the course of the week, about what was explored during the sharing session.
