Today at Brave Club, we celebrated the amazing mamas, grandmas and aunties. 🌷

We had dancing, a flower bar, and crafts for the kids to make something beautiful with their own hands! We also baked cookies together and decorated it for and with the mummies and heard a beautiful sharing too! We love our Brave mums to bits, they are stronger than we imagine and see.

Thank you for coming, wishing all of the mummies, grandmothers and aunties a Happy Mothers’ Day!

Brave Club is one of our social justice initiatives started by a group of fitness and dance enthusiasts from 3:16 Church. Our heart is to use our skills and passion to serve families with special needs, and that together, we may all become a more inclusive and enabled community!

Today is a meaningful day to pray for Singapore. To give thanks and intercede for the nation as PM Lee Hsien Loong steps down as Singapore’s 3rd Prime Minister and hands over the baton to successor DPM Lawrence Wong.

The weight of leadership is not a light matter. Leaders are held to a higher standard and have heavier expectations placed on them. As a people of God, may we continue to humble ourselves, pray and seek Gods’ face on behalf of Singapore.

We celebrated the LEGENDARY dads at Brave Club yesterday 😎💥

It was a heartwarming time being in a room full of heroes who loved on their children FIERCELY and with nothing withheld. They looked at their children with such pride and affection. Thank you Fathers for being their ROCK, their cheerleader and their shepherd.

LGBT Activists Attack Singapore Pastor Featured by RICE Media - Regardless Explores the contentious aftermath of RICE Media's interview with ex-gay Pastor Chang Tou Chen, who candidly discusses his transition from a 'gay lifestyle' to finding fulfilment in Christianity. Facing severe backlash and accusations of promoting conversion therapy, the RICE media's quick removal o...

On 5th and 6th May 2024, Pastor Tou Chen was featured in an interview published by Inconvenient Questions and Rice Media. The video immediately received an inordinate amount of vitriol when it was published on Rice Media’s Instagram. Shortly after, Rice Media decided to remove the post.

For anyone who is curious about the conversation, Inconvenient Questions has kept the video up on YouTube. We are thankful that there are still people courageous enough to stand up for civil, objective conversations on real life experiences.

TESTIFYING IN AN AGE OF OFFENCE
The onslaught of comments probably picked up after local activists picked on the video, launching into yet another wave of harsh and unsupported accusations against Pastor Tou Chen and the ministry of Truelove.is. This is not the first time it has happened, and neither is this the first time we have addressed the issue of false accusations and attempts to silence the voice of those who choose to follow God wholeheartedly.

While the stated desire to protect people from harm is, at first glance, a noble one, problems arise when baseless allegations are thrown around flippantly without substantiated evidence. In doing so, instead of preventing harm, real harm in the form of defamation is caused under a sweeping and misleading label of conversion therapy. We cannot take such defamation lightly as the well being of many are at stake.

We therefore encourage those who accuse the ministry or churches of wrongdoing to provide explicit, objective and verifiable evidence so that these may be investigated. This is a better path forward instead of the mudslinging we have faced.

Unwittingly, the activists’ attempts to cancel and censor only serves to prove Pastor Tou Chen’s point about this community being silenced. Our heart goes out to those who are prejudiced against the Christian faith. We pray that they too may find comfort in an encounter with our risen Lord and Saviour, and find the peace that they have been searching for.

We remain steadfast knowing that there are many people who reach out to us in private, and who have found hope, fulfilment and restoration in Christ as a result, for in Him, WeExist.

AN “ALTERNATE CHRISTIANITY”?
We also noticed some comments on the YouTube platform which promotes a different kind of “Christianity”, one that recognises it is not accepted as a part of mainstream Christianity because of their difference in s*xual ethics. For the uninitiated, the confusion is understandable. The difference is however, not limited to just a difference in s*xual ethics.

If one spends enough time and attention understanding Christianity and this different kind of "Christianity", it is not difficult for one to discover that there is an irreconcilable departure in their attitudes and approach to the Bible, leading to a different understanding of God, and that ultimately these people are preaching a different Jesus and “Gospel”.

It is regrettable that we are witnessing the rise of another pseudo-Christianity which clings onto the label and terms used in Christianity without carrying the essence of Christianity. It is unbiblical to discard biblical righteousness in the name of seeking “social justice”. Righteousness and Justice go hand-in-hand (Psalm 89:14-15).

If you are someone who is struggling in the area of same s*x attraction and trying to reconcile your faith with your s*xuality, do reach out via an email or DM. Beyond this, we also continue to pray for believers to find courage to live faithfully according to Scripture in every area of our lives, not just in the area of s*xual ethics.

FAITHFULNESS IN AN AGE OF OFFENCE
It may feel tiring to always have to deal with false accusations, but we have good encouragement from Scripture. For every Christian who may feel intimidated, take heart! For Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33).

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

A lot can happen in a day 🥹

We had a ROARING time at X4 Conference encountering the Father’s heart. We sang, danced, laughed, cried, leaned in as we heard our fellow brothers and sisters poured their experiences, testimony of God’s goodness, lessons and encouragements.

We are praying that what was received today will not stay and be left behind in the conference, BUT GO! Our Father is a creator, therefore we have HIS DNA in us, therefore we MUST create! ❤️‍🔥💪🏻

We are THAT church!

Celebrated our 11th Anniversary on Sunday with the 7 distinctives imparted to us by Ps Norman. 🙌🏻❤️‍🔥

They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
Acts 2:46-47

As a Church, we’ve made some changes. The expression of our faith simply cannot be the same as what it was before Covid-19. Since March 2021, our worship services are held as a big assembly only on the first Sunday of the month. For the month’s remaining Sundays, we meet in home gatherings all over Singapore.

Daniel 1:1-2 In the third year of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. And the Lord delivered Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, along with some of the articles from the temple of God. These he carried off to the temple of his god in Babylonia and put in the treasure house of his god.

Some Bible scholars estimate Daniel was about 90 years old when authored his namesake book.

The 1st 2 verses start out with a powerful statement of God's sovereignty over all things. There was no fanfare or panic but 2 simple statements that God allowed Jerusalem to be overtaken by Nebuchadnezzar.

Daniel was most probably freaked out when he was carried off to Babylon as a teenager. However, with each step of obedience, his faith and confidence in God grew. His decision to stick to a kosher diet, and his peaceful countenance when he was thrown in the lions’ den.

Daniel chose to trust in God regardless of his circumstance. Daniel knew God had warned Israel that they would be handed over to their enemies should they disobey Him. Daniel knew God as his protector and defender when he was in the lion’s den.

When push comes to shove, do we falter in light of our circumstances or do we have keep our eyes on Him like Daniel? By His grace, may we have the lens of faith to "know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
