Good enough...

Whilst we’re all out there setting bold goals and some of us even building good habits, behaviours and solid plans to achieve them, I realised that so often we’re setting ourselves up for failure.

🔸Not because the goals are unattainable or we’re not committed to put in the work, but mostly because too often we’re perfectionists. We put so much pressure on ourselves to do everything perfectly. We assess review, iterate and look for that perfect timing. Problem is that the world continues to change and time continues to pass.

🔸So even when you believe you have created something “perfect” in your opinion, by the time it’s out there it is already imperfect.

🔸Often this sort of perfectionism can leave us feeling paralysed with fear or in a world of procrastination and disappointment.

🔸There is simply no such thing as perfection, why not work on doing everything as very best you can (in that moment) until it’s good enough and then fire!

🔸Everything is temporary, you can always iterate in the future and you will likely need to even when you thought it was perfect.

🔸Now I must caveat that this is not an excuse to half arse things, but it can make that inner critic pipe down and allow you some mental freedom to keep progressing and growing.

🔸So why not try the new found “good enough” mentality and see how truly liberating it can be!
