This year, Ps Sarah shared with us that we are intentionally aligning our vision with the main body of BBTC. Becoming an effective priest and king should be our long-term goals as members of Youth Church! Being an effective priest means that we ought to minister to both God and Men, and being an effective king is about representing God on earth in power and authority 👑

On Christmas Eve this year, 26 of our brothers and sisters went through the waters of baptism - a public declaration of their faith. We are so proud of each one of you! 🥳

Even as we celebrate Christmas today, let’s share in His spirit of giving by giving those we love the greatest gift of the Gospel 🎄✨

This week, Ministry staff David took us back to a critical question. Who do you say I am? This question is something that each of us needs to consider seriously as we enter into this Christmas season. Jesus came to save the world from its sin by dying for it. He is the Son of God who came to rescue the world.

As we consider who Jesus is, we must:
1. Proclaim Christ’s mission to prevent confusion (v13-14)
2. Proclaim with faith and let God reveal (v15-17)

A big shout out to all students who are taking their O Levels tomorrow! We are praying for you 🙏🏻✨

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬)

May this verse be a word of encouragement even as you start your exams, God is with you, JIAYOUS 💪🏻

This week, Pastor Andrew shared with us on the topic of loving one another within the family. As a disciple of Christ, it is of critical importance that Love is a hallmark of our lives. God expects us to love, for He has demonstrated perfect love. What is left for us to figure out is how we will express the love of God to those around us. The world is watching. Upon evaluation, it is clear that left to our own devices, we are incapable of maintaining our relationship with God, obedience to Him and Holiness unto Him. We must safeguard these domains of our lives and it is only possible with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit ✨

This week, CS Esther Koh shared with us about the principle of separation. We need to be set apart from things that derail or distract us and we must not allow these things to contaminate our relationship with God. As we set ourselves apart, for God, he will use us and transform us to become more and more like Him, the Holy One.

Beyond the hype and fun, Camp Transform is an avenue for God to transform lives. Coming into camp from different seasons but with the same expectant heart, you can expect to grow deeper in the spiritual disciplines of word and worship – renewing your mind with the things of God and offering your life as a pleasing sacrifice unto God.

Last weekend, Pastor Eunice shared with us about the dedication of the wall in Jerusalem. It was the culmination of all events that had occurred – after rallying the people, rebuilding the ruined wall, remaining resilient against opposition and repopulating the city, this was the final step in the restoration of Jerusalem! The people rejoiced at the dedication of the wall, giving glory to God for His faithfulness and all He had done through them to rebuild Jerusalem.

👉🏻 How can we learn from the Israelites in the way we rejoice and worship the Lord?

1️⃣ Praise God intentionally – acknowledge Him and give thanks
2️⃣ Purify our hearts to encounter Him

This week, Pastor Amos shared with us about the return of the people to Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah. When they returned, it was more than just about a return of the people. The blessings affected the physical land around them because they brought back two important things. They brought back ownership of the land and worship of their God.

Last weekend , Ps Andrew revealed how there is a difference between grief and remorse. Worldly grief is not profitable to us, but godly grief that which to repentance is of great importance. We have to take our sin seriously, confess our sin and establish change. As we make every effort to obey Him, it is God himself that will sustain us and empower us to change.

Last weekend, Ps Amos explored Nehemiah 9. We learnt that apart from God, we are hopelessly caught in the cycles of sin and incapable of living holy and pure lives. However, as we cling on to Jesus, He is the hope and the light of our salvation.

What can we learn from the History of Israel?
1️⃣ God is Historically Faithful (v5-15)
2️⃣ Man is repeatedly Sinful (v16-31)
3️⃣ We are helplessly in need of God (v32-37)

Last weekend, Ministry Staff David Leo spoke with us on Nehemiah 8 and how we can learn about how we can respond to God's word. Each time we encounter God's word, we must posture our hearts, hear with all our minds and will and obey with all our strength.

Last weekend, Ministry Staff Kim shared with us how we must continue to keep on keeping guard so that we can continue giving to the Lord and to the body of Christ. We must not allow distractions to take away our focus on pursuing God and His will for us.

Why do we keep on keeping guard?
1️⃣ To keep things out – To preserve the walls (v1-3)
2️⃣ To keep things in – To protect the people within the walls (v4-7)
3️⃣ To keep giving to what matters – To be who God calls us to be (v70-73)
