You may be surprised to learn that many people still do not practise basic dental health care: brushing their teeth twice a day. Are you one of them?

Dental Implant or Dental Bridge - which is better?
Both dental implant and dental bridge procedures can replace one or more missing teeth. But is one better than another?
Every case deserves an individual evaluation to determine the best option. While dental implants offer one of the most predictable ways to replace teeth, a bridge provides an alternative to consider. Implants are made from titanium and are placed into the jaw to support dentures or crowns. A dental bridge (made of porcelain, alloys, gold or a mixture) attaches to the teeth on both sides of an open space to support false teeth and bridge the gap.
Dental implants can last many years with a 95% success rate. But they need a healthy bone for support and a commitment to good daily oral hygiene. Bridges may be slightly less expensive than implants, but they depend on healthy teeth and excellent maintenance for longevity. Systemic health conditions, medications, gum disease, and unusual bite forces are just some of the factors that must be weighed when choosing a tooth replacement option.
We consider your goals and clinical condition before we recommend implant-supported restorations or bridges. Together we can choose what’s best for you.

Veneers are very effective in beautifying your smile. They are a great option if your teeth are discoloured, worn-down, chipped, cracked or crooked.
There are 2 types of materials for veneers - porcelain and composite - with porcelain being the more popular as it is a high-quality ceramic that looks like your natural teeth.
Porcelain veneers are custom-made in our laboratory and they can last for many years.
Composite is a form of plastic. Although it can be made to look nice, it tends to discolour and may chip easily after a few years.

Do you have cracked or broken teeth that hurt and leave you feeling distressed?
The solution to this problem may be found in dental crowns.
Dental crowns restore teeth with large cavities due to dental decay or trauma. They look and feel natural when fixed onto your damaged teeth. Besides providing protection, they can also restore the shine in your teeth by covering up discolourations.
DM us if you would like to book an appointment.
Do I really need to floss my teeth?
Our dentist recommends cleaning between your teeth daily with an interdental cleaner such as floss. Even if you brush your teeth twice a day, you may still leave stubborn plaque behind. This will lead to cavities and gum disease over time.
What is plaque?
Plaque contains bacteria that feed on leftover food or sugar in your mouth. As they feed, they release an acid that corrodes the outer shell of your tooth which causes cavities. Plaque will also harden into a rough substance called tartar which can lead to gum disease.
