It was yet another amazing Speech Day & Art Exhibition at our school!
The theme of the art exhibition was "Free To Be Me" and the art works by our students was a representation of themselves, inspired by different artists like Picasso and using techniques like cubism. This was followed by a concert and certificate presentation.
In our true inclusive approach, every student was given a part to play in the concert, regardless of abilities (that's how we like to call it!). Our music specialist carefully curated the acts by leveraging on each child's strengths and stretching them slightly beyond. The end result was every child felt successful at having contributed to the concert. It was definitely a morning to remember!!

Meet Joanna, she is a success story for the Place-and-Train (PnT) Programme at The Guild International College and Melbourne International School, as supported by SG Enable.
Joanna's remarkable journey from pursuing a career in the food & beverage industry to office assistant and finally finding her true calling as a teacher assistant is truly inspiring. Joanna joined The GUILD International College in March 2023 under the PnT programme as an office assistant where her passion for working with individuals with special needs became evident. She frequently interacted with the students, offering assistance and encouragement.
Over time her strengths in connecting with others and extending empathy shone through and combining with manpower needs, we extended to her the opportunity to train as a teacher assistant at the Melbourne International School. She embraced this opportunity and jumped into the role like fish to water.
A year on, we are proud to announce that she has successfully completed the PnT programme and has been hired full time as a Classroom Support Assistant in Melbourne International School!
