It's been exactly a week since Reunion 2024's on-campus event but we are still not over it! This year’s schedule includes familiar traditions and new highlights, including a "Flashback Feast" featuring alumni favourites from the past! Think chicken rice from the hawkers across the road and the crispiest fish and chips from the former school caterer! The afternoon ended with a football friendly on the AYE field. What a way to wrap up the Reunion Weekend!

It felt great to be back at Conrad Centennial for Reunion 2024's Welcome Reception and catch up with alumni from classes of ‘74, '79, ‘84, ‘89, ‘94, ‘99, ‘04 and ‘14! We welcomed over 300 alumni, family and friends from 29 different countries, and it was so good to see everyone in person! Here’s to more making connections that last through the years, and to seeing each other again at the next Milestone Reunion (or before!).

Best-selling author & former international business journalist Ruchika Tulshyan '05 was recently in town to speak on diversity and inclusivity in the international education scene. She shared her inspiring career journey, approach to inclusivity, and science-backed ideas for equity. The audience was captivated, and Ruchika's former UWC South East Asia Middle School teacher, Ms Susan Edwards, was there to support her!

Today is the day! Reunion 2024 is here and close to 400 alumni, family and friends have signed up to be part of the Reunion Weekend activities – including 43 from the Class of 2014!

It's been 10 years since their graduation and together with the other milestone classes, this weekend will be full of reminiscing, laughter and the opportunity to create new memories together. Let the celebrations begin!

Two years on and seven company visits later, we continue to offer UWC South East Asia High School students an elusive inside peek into the real-world working experience and help them chart their future professional goals. We've got a stellar line-up ahead – there will be opportunities for students to visit Blackstone Asset Management, NUS Institute of Policy Studies and Novartis Healthcare. What a great start to the term!

Alonso Sanchez Ballestero ‘24, a scholar from Costa Rica, shares words of wisdom on how to make the best of your UWCSEA experience. He will be headed to Tufts University this fall to pursue a double major in Economics and Political Sciences.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the very sad news of the passing of former staff member, John Burgess on 22 July 2024 in the UK.

John arrived at Dover Campus in 1972 to teach Physical Education and left in 1988 as the Head of Faculty in Pursuits. His roles only tell a fraction of the impact and passion John had for the UWCSEA and sporting community. We know that he will be missed by so many of his former students, colleagues, and friends across the globe.

We welcome all tributes alumni have of John. If you would like us to share your personal condolences, please send them to the Alumni Team at [email protected] and we will help pass them on.

Our thoughts are with John, his family, and his friends.

Albertina Nkunika ‘24, a scholar from Zambia, shares what her UWC experience meant to her. She will be headed to Trinity College, Connecticut this fall to pursue Biomedical engineering with a minor in History.

Last week, a group of students and alumni got to for an inspiring discussion on sustainability with Minister Grace Fu and a panel of eco-conscious youth leaders, including Kavin, a Grade 11 UWC South East Asia student from East Campus. They then got to tour the premises and learn about Razer's green efforts in the gaming world.

Congratulations to Wyclife Omondi ‘13, co-founder of transport mobility platform, BuuPass for acquiring QuickBus and increasing their footprint in 16 African countries including Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and more! The expansion ​​is set to add over 5,000 new routes to BuuPass’s platform, significantly enriching the network and service offerings for African consumers. What an exciting milestone!

It's been four months since UWC Congress 2024, a dynamic gathering uniting minds in-person and online to chart the future of the UWC movement. Our very own alum, Nadiem Makarim '02 kicked off the opening plenary session by sharing the ways in which the UWC values can be further brought to life, drawing examples from his own transformational leadership journey.

The school year may be ending, but our students are still learning from the best! This past term, we had inspiring lunchtime talks with UWC South East Asia alumni speakers: ✨📐Oxford Math grad Emma Abou-Haidar Ventura '19 and dental surgeon Dr. Chie Ikeda '08! 🦷✨ Our alumni shared their journeys, answered critical questions and shared insider tips in their university and professional pathways!

It's no mean feat to be listed in the top 25 under 30 of The Sunday Times in the UK. Congratulations to the founder and CEO of Clear, Ahana Banerjee ‘17 for being on the inaugural Young Power List for 2024! She shares, “To be one of just 25 people across the country, one of three tech entrepreneurs, and the youngest female founder on the list is such an honour. ”

Never one to stay still, Ben Howitt '11 took on the Rickshaw Run in Northeast India for the second time to raise funds for Mission Rabies and Cool Earth. Together with his father, he raced across the far northeast of India covering a distance of 1,800km in 12 days in a Tuk Tuk.
