Victoria Junior College
Victoria is Something More
Lead | Serve | Excel This is what sets us apart in the educational landscape of Singapore.
The Victoria Junior College name is synonymous with a culture of excellence and innovation in both work and play. While Victorians boast of strong academic standings and possess rigorous intellectual habits, they are also challenged to go beyond the everyday and pursue what their hearts desire. We value the diversity that is every young person and believe that there is nothing more important than
โFood is not just about fuel. Food is about family, food is about community, food is about identity. And we nourish those things when we eat well.โ -- Michael Pollan ๐ฉโ๐ณ๐จโ๐ณ
As part of Staff Day Celebrations in Week 9 of Term 3, our staff were treated to scrumptious lunches. On Tuesday, our schoolโs Parents Support Group (PSG) prepared a cornucopia of food, ranging from congee, to soya beancurd, and even a live prata station, to reward the staff for their hard work throughout the year. ๐ฆ๐๐๐
Next, on Thursday, we painted the town red! ๐๐Our annual Staff Day Lunch, organised by the Staff Welfare Committee, saw our staff dressed in their most vibrant ๐๐๐๐ฅป attire, having a great time playing table games and putting our names in for the coveted lucky draw prizes!
Signing off, we would like to wish all teachers and EAS a very happy and fulfilling Staff Day! โฅ๏ธ

The EdVantage! Fair is a staple in VJCโs calendar, and this yearโs edition saw over 50 universities and organisations converging in our campus to share what they have to offer!
Put together by the Collegeโs very own Education & Career Guidance (ECG) and Talent Development committees, the Fair exposes students to a wide range of further studies and career options. Live talks also took place! In fact, each industry speaker that day was an alumnus coming back to engage with their juniors โค๏ธ๐
A big thank you to all the participating organisations, speakers, and last but not least, the teachers working hard behind the scenes! See you next year! ๐ป
The parade may be over, but SG59 celebrations continue at VJC this week!
On 12 August, the annual National Service Engagement was held, with VJC alumni from the Commando Unit, Central Manpower Base and SAF Volunteer Corps sharing their experiences with us. Booths were also set up to give us a glimpse of the work of the courageous men and women keeping us safe!
On 14 August, the SG Dialogue was held for our JC2 students, with Senior Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office, Mr Desmond Tan , facilitating discussions about the topic of 'Refreshing Our Social Compact'. This was a timely conversation, allowing Victorians to reimagine and redefine our future together!
Thank you SMS Desmond Tan ้ๅฝๆ for joining us yesterday!

๐ฉโ๐ฌ๐จโ๐ฌ Every year, our college's Science and Technology Centre organises the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Festival in collaboration with external partners such as A*STAR and DSTA. This year's festival saw more than 300 students from primary and secondary schools around Singapore take part in events such as the A*STAR-VJC Science Fair, and the Amazing Eco-STEM Race.
The festival is an integral part of the Centre's efforts to promote interest and learning in STEM through collaboration and innovation.
Well done to all participants, and we hope that they continue to keep their passions for STEM burning! ๐งช๐งฌ๐ญ๐ฅ๏ธ

A true community is more than just the sum of its parts. Victorians proved that we are something more when we came together to celebrate the journey we had in the past year. ๐
For our 40th College Day on 19 July 2024, Ms Nadia Ahmad Samdin, our alumna, graced the occasion and encouraged Victorians to embrace and support one another as we seek to lead, serve and excel. Long-time friends and partners joined us to witness the coming of age of yet another cohort of students.
We celebrated the achievements of Victorians - students and staff - and cheered our โค๏ธhearts๐ out for those who overcame trials to stand tall. The newest members of our family - the JC1s - embodied the College Spirit by serving with pride to make it all happen, alongside the unsung heroes - our staff - who carried out their duty with utmost dedication.
From the bottom of our hearts, Thank You and Nil Sine Labore! ๐ฅฐ

"Berhati hati di ruang platform."
Sights and sounds help make a place. But did you know artworks do that too?
During the June holidays, guided by Dina and Eve from , our Arts students station-hopped along the Northeast Line to check out the lovely and thought-provoking works commissioned for 's Art in Transit programme.
Who knew our MRT stations were such cool platforms for Singapore Art? We can't wait to admire the new works along TEL when it opens! Akan datang!
Guided by the theme โ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ธ๐ป๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐๐กโ and inspired by the narrators they met on their AESOP journey, the JC2 Arts Faculty students organised the 2024 VJC Humanities Symposium, an enrichment and outreach event for their juniors and students from 10 secondary schools.
ย
From an interactive art-making workshop to a gossip-fuelled party, a curatorial experience, an interview skills practice session and design-centric activities requiring perspective-taking, participants had a taste of what humanities education had to offer.
ย
Our VJC Arts alumni - Gregory Kang, Deputy Director, Social Mobility and Service Integration Division, Ministry of Social and Family Development; Shawn Hoo, Journalist, The Straits Times; and Tan Wei Lin, Assistant Director, ASEAN Division, Ministry of Trade and Industry - hosted fireside chat sessions to share their stories.
