A word to summarise 2023 would be “challenging,” and we are certain this year is going to be all the more tougher. But everyday we take heart in all the love and support we have received from you, and not taking anything for granted, we only hope to be able to continue bringing our crafts to the table each day. We just really want to thank all of you for following us on our journey all this while, and give a heartfelt hug to the ones who have been supporting the two of us and our tiny coffee and bake business ever since you found out about us/gave our crafts a try. Thank you to the lot of you for showing us your love and support in the form of likes & shares, recommending/bringing fam & friends over for a chill time over our coffee & bakes, simply enjoying yourselves here without overanalysing anything, dropping us messages of appreciation and/or to cheer us on, as well as surprising us with yummy food and/or random gifts & tips into our jar for our next comfort meal.

Honestly it is incredibly challenging and exhausting (physically & mentally) to be on the ground for service & production and long work hours & intensive workload, just the two of us, each day. And let's face it, we meet plenty superficial/nasty/unpleasant/unappreciative/devaluing people every other day whom more often than not makes us feel greatly disenchanted from, and sick of, the better half. We face burn out every few weeks, and every few months when it gets too heavy we cry and ask each other if we should just call this a stop and give it all up. But really whenever this happens, the lot of you would suddenly fill both our hearts up with so much love and light, and we always come back to "ah, yes, we're doing what we do, for them."

So this year nothing fancy, nothing celebratory, just a heartfelt message from us to you. Thank you for supporting our 2 person biz continuously in this oversaturated market and for every little act of appreciation; every one of it actually touches us deeply and makes us feel valued, giving us that push to continue grinding through each day, giving us that reason to keep doing what we do.

Here’s a throw to 3 years back, when hy’s hair was long & jon’s hair was um…., (still) colour coordinating, excitedly embracing the huat🍍 and the new start of bringing coffee together to pair with our bakes. happy third, the better half ☕🍰🏡

New on our espresso bar - a rotating selection of single origins roasted by ! We love working with likeminded folks and Little Big are no different; a simple down-to-earth small batch outfit serving what they enjoy. We've enjoyed their coffees ever since we discovered them and we can't wait to share this new coffee experience with you.

To start, we will be welcoming Cafe De Valle FW, Peru; exhibiting beautiful brown sugar sweetness, this coffee has a creamy macadamia nut-like body tasting of nougat with chocolate, fruit and floral notes.

Enjoy this interesting and delightful brew on its own at any time of the day, or pair it with our rotating selection of bakes for a full The Better Half experience. ☕️🍰

Happy birthday to the most incredibly hardworking Jonjonjon! 🌈 Always happy to be able to take time off to celebrate your day when you've always been making birthday cakes for everyone else's celebrations (although always very sorry to the ones who have their birthdays near yours heh). Thank you for constantly grinding through a 7-day work week day to night just to keep our lil' biz going especially through these tricky times, and for pulling us up whenever we spiral down. I am grateful we make such a great team, and working alongside you has been the most rewarding. Onward to more greatness 🧡
