What an exciting 6 months it’s been for all our members! It’s surreal being back to participate in races, and we are so honored to have ran the following races:

Paddles Up! Belay! Strike! 🚣 🧗‍♀️🎳

Throughout the past month, our members engaged in an array of exciting activities, ranging from bowling to rock climbing, and even dragon boating! Despite wet weather on the day of our dragon boating excursion, our members still participated in dry land paddling which culminated in a friendly competition 🙌🏻

Beaming with joy because Unlabelled RUN has a new race category this year in collaboration with the special needs community - their 1KM run/walk, another step towards inclusion!

Runninghour is proud to be part of this movement to drop the labels and begin seeing the people. We’re excited to participate and advocate for the removal of harmful labels that create stigmatization and discrimination 💚

We can’t wait to see everyone there! Catch over 45 of our guides and buddies on 18 May at the 5KM and 10KM races 🌟

As the year comes to a close, we’re thrilled to present - Runninghour 2023 Wrapped 🎉

Throughout this year, we’ve engaged in a diverse array of activities, spanning from our regular weekly sessions to ad-hoc events like stand-up paddling, sailing, and tandem cycling. A special shoutout to our partners for making all of this possible 🚣‍♂️⛵🚴‍♂️

We also warmly welcomed new members into our family and inducted over 100 guides, who are now trained to support our buddies 🤝

The highlight of our year? A remarkable achievement of completing 100 run sessions in 2023 🏃‍♂️💯

Our deepest gratitude to our guides, buddies, caregivers, staff, partners, and supporters. Your unwavering support made all of this possible, and we are so thankful to have everyone in our big Runninghour family 🙏

UPCOMING INTAKE: WSQ Certified Course - “Understanding and Interacting with Persons with Disabilities (Level 1)”

⏰ 08:00 - 17:30 (Including 1.5 hours of assessment)
👩🏻‍🏫 Inclusive of 3 hours of e-learning prior to the in-person session and a 1-day practical session

Runninghour (RH) is delighted to announce the next run of our SkillsFuture certified course, “Understanding and Interacting with Persons with Disabilities (Level 1)” scheduled for this December!

This course, co-facilitated by Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), is essential for individuals whose work or personal life involves interacting with PWDs, as well as those aspiring to pursue a career in this sector. It will also create greater opportunities for those interested in freelancing assistance in camps/activities involving PWDs.

Upon course completion, learners will:
✅ Acquire knowledge and skills to address the diverse needs of individuals with different types of disabilities
✅ Receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) Certificate

Do take note of the following:
➡️ SkillsFuture Credits (SFC) can be utilized for subsidies, subject to eligibility (Refer to the information pack for subsidy entitlement details)
➡️ SMEs are eligible for additional subsidies for their employees
➡️ Registration for the December 9 course intake will close on November 27

Appreciation BBQ For Guides ❣️

At Runninghour, our Guides play a crucial role, each donning multiple hats - they are the running guide, the friend, the motivator, the safety guardian, and so much more 🏃‍♂️

Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to caregivers Magdelene and Michael, along with fellow caregivers, for initiating an appreciation BBQ for our guides at East Coast Park. Together with our buddies, they also prepared handmade gifts for our guides as a form of appreciation towards their devotion and dedication 🎁🥰

Thank you for the memorable evening, where everyone bonded over food, caught up with each other, and most importantly, enjoyed each other’s presence 😊🎉
