Mr Look Boon Gee, Ms Ng Sor Hiang, Mr Loh Kin Kit and Mr Jiang D**g Yuan attended a site visit with the MOE Zonal Director Mr Andrew Lim and School Superintendent Mdm Vimi Sambwani to see the soon-to-be completed St. Margaret's Primary School on 03 June 2024.

Mr Look was invited to be one of the jury members for HDB Design Awards 2024 for the Completed, To-Be-Built & Rejuvenation projects.

On 29th April 2024, he attended site visits to Fernvale Dew & Rivervale Shores among other shortlisted projects together with the Awards Committee consisting of HDB CEO Mr Tan Meng Dui, DCEO (Estate) Mike Chan, DCEO (Building) Dr. Johnny Wong and others.

A lively Mid-Term Review with Andrew Lee’s Studio – “In-Between Katong” on 14th March 2024 afternoon in SUTD.

The architectural design programme placed a greater emphasis on place understanding through on-site observations, interactions with residents, interviews and making videos.

It was a rewarding experience listening to ideas and a myriad of diverse approaches from the Year 2 students and the reviewers’ comments.

Mr. Look Boon Gee was invited to the SUTD Housing Studio Final Review on 11th December 2023 at the SUTD Chinese Pavilion. The building which was first conceived by Mr. Look to creatively assimilate traditional Chinese houses with a central courtyard into a place to promote learning of Chinese architecture.

The review was about “additions and alterations” to existing HDB housing estate. It was a fruitful and robust discussion between the juries and students on Yishun Town neighbourhood and architectural interventions to help promote greater awareness on community, connectivity and sustainability issues.

Mr. Look Boon Gee was invited to join MND Huddle 2023. The event was hosted by the Minister for National Development, held at Gardens by the Bay on 17th November 2023.

The City for Humanity Awards 2023 ceremony concluded on the evening of 26 October 2023, in Chengdu's High-Tech District, China. Among the 192 outstanding projects, the Fuzhou Urban Forest Trail (Fudao) was honored to receive the City for Humanity Awards 2023 (Ecologically Sensitive Category).

Mr. Look Boon Gee was invited to join MND Huddle 2022. The event was hosted by the Minister for National Development, held at Gardens by the Bay on 1st November 2022.

LOOK Architects was conferred the prestigious Design Award by the Housing and Development Board for our project, St. George’s Towers. Our Managing Director Mr. Look Boon Gee received the award from the Minister of National Development and Minister-in-Charge of Social Services Integration, Mr. Desmond Lee on 11 Oct 2022.

Mr Look was invited as a speaker by National University of Singapore Department of Architecture to share “The Architecture of Connectivity” on 23 August 2022. He is honored to share his creativity and experience on the project, the China Fuzhou Jin Niu Shan Trans-Urban Connector (福道).

Congratulations to LOOK Architects on winning the HDB Design Award 2020 for our project, St George’s Towers. Mr Look was on hand to receive the award from Minister of National Development, Mr Desmond Lee at the ceremony on 20 Oct, which was held at HDB Auditorium.

LOOK Architects was one of the top ten finalists chosen for the 2020 Human City Design Awards out of a total of 99 entries from 31 countries. The awards this year were chosen based on the theme of “A positive influence on the everyday – designs that make life happier” and recognized designs that improve the quality of life and everyday happiness in cities, especially in a post-COVID-19 era. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the award was received on behalf of the team by Ambassador Eric Teo of the Singapore Embassy in Seoul.

The award was given to our project, the China Fuzhou Jin Niu Shan Trans-urban Connector (福道) - an environmentally friendly, 19km elevated walkway and urban park set in the city of Fuzhou, China. The project was recognized for its transformative role in re-connecting humans to nature in the heart of a dense urban environment and for promoting a vision of “slow-travel” and a walking trail within the city. One of the jury members, Lu Xiaobo commented that the project was an “elegant combination of function, aesthetics and a healthy natural landscape”.
