The SDG Impact Finance Initiative (SIFI) was launched in 2021 by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO in cooperation with UBS Optimus Foundation. In 2024, the Ministry of Finance of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg joined the initiative.
The initiative aims to address the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) funding gap, estimated at 3.9 trillion annually by OECD. Using public and private funds, it has the goal to unlock up to CHF 1 billion for the financing of SDGs in development countries until 2030. Focussing on supporting financial solutions that contribute to SDG efforts, projects are chosen in calls for propsals that take place 4x times a year.
We encourage both organisations interested in taking part in calls for proposals as well as public and philantropic organisations interested in joining SIFI, to have a look at its website: www.sdgimpactfinance.org.

75 years after their adoption, the Geneva Conventions remain as relevant as ever.
We currently have over 120 armed conflicts in the world. Their consequences are dire: they claim lives, separate families and cause untold suffering. While the Geneva Conventions do not prevent the outbreak of war, they set limits in order to protect civilians and victims of war. They establish minimum humanitarian standards and fundamental principles which must be upheld in all situations of armed conflict. Thus, the respect of the Geneva Conventions continues to save millions of lives.
The 7️⃣5️⃣ years of the Geneva Conventions are the opportunity for all states to renew their commitment to a common humanity and to ensure respect for IHL.
