The Sierra Leone Grammar School was founded on 25 March 1845 in Freetown, Sierra Leone Church Missionary Society . They were sent on to Fourah Bay College.
The Sierra Leone Grammar School was founded on 25 March 1845 in Freetown, Sierra Leone by the Church Mission Society (CMS), and at first was called the CMS Grammar School. It was the first secondary educational institution for West Africans with a European curriculum. Many of the administrators and professionals of British West Africa were educated at the school. SLGS Thanksgiving Service
The Annual Prize Giving Ceremony is a momentous occasion, bringing together students, faculty, parents, and distinguished guests. The event celebrates academic achievements, leadership, and the unique talents of our school community.
Here are the highlights:
1) Inspirational Keynote Address:
A renowned guest speaker will deliver an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing values such as perseverance, determination, and community spirit.
2) Recognition of Academic Excellence:
Awards will be presented to students who excelled academically. These will include subject-specific prizes, overall academic achievement awards, and recognition for outstanding performance.
The top achievers in each year group will receive special commendations, highlighting their dedication and hard work.
3) Leadership and Character Awards:
The ceremony honours student leaders who demonstrated exceptional leadership skills. Prefects, student council members, and other role models will be recognised for their contributions.
4) Creative Arts and Sports Prizes:
Students who shone in creative arts, music, drama, and sports will be celebrated. Awards will be given for achievements in various disciplines, showcasing the diverse talents within our school.

An update on our work: we accepted 87 students from 17 schools, including 2 schools from Bo and Lunsa, for our STEM Holiday Club which starts tomorrow and will continue until August 25th
The 43 girls and 44 boys will be learning digital literacy, coding, graphic design, robotics and multimedia. Attendance is free and lunch is included. We are also providing transportation allowance to any child whose family cannot afford it
We hope to make a huge impact on these bright students this summer!
