Undernutrition in all its forms contributes to approximately 45% of preventable deaths in children under 5 each year. Undernutrition negatively affects physical growth, cognitive development, and educational attainment, causing potentially irreversible damage.

59% Fifty-nine percent of the population in South Sudan lacks access to safe water, while 61% of the population practice open defecation. Families may be forced to drink dirty water to survive, putting them at risk of waterborne diseases such as cholera and diarrhea, which remain the leading causes of death among children in South Sudan. The situation is further aggravated by poor hygiene practices. Just 10 percent of the population has access to improved sanitation.

Communicable diseases are the leading cause of death, with Malaria, diarrheal diseases, and pneumonia being the biggest killers of children under 5 in South Sudan, where 80% of maternal deaths are preventable. Conflicts, flooding, and poor health infrastructure pushed 5.5 million people to rely on NGO-provided healthcare in 2022.

May 23, 2023 [Bor, Jonglei State]
The of Yo' Care South Sudan is in Bor, Jonglei State for a supportive mission to Yo' Care Sub-Office in Jonglei State, and on our first day, met with the Director-General of the Jonglei State Ministry of Health, Dr. Chot Kueth.
During our meeting, we discussed issues related to HIV programming in the State. Yo' Care, as the Ministry of Health partner in community HIV program implementation in the state with support from USAID, aims to understand the areas of need and gaps from the Ministry. We discussed how best we can collaborate with the State Ministry of Health in scaling up HIV service delivery across the state in line with UNAIDS' global target for HIV epidemic control by 2030, the PEPFAR Country Operational Plan for South Sudan, and the USAID South Sudan Strategic framework.
We resolved to continue coordinating to enhance effective HIV program implementation, strengthen local capacities, and support the SMOH in its key role of promoting health and providing care across the State.

PREQUALIFICATION AND REGISTRATION EXERCISE FOR SUPPLIERS WITHIN SOUTH SUDAN FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2023
1. About Yo’ Care South Sudan:
Established in December 2009, Yo’ Care South Sudan is a not-for-profit, non-political, Non-Government Organization (NGO) based in Juba, South Sudan. The organization is run by South Sudanese medical, healthcare, and nutritional professionals to create, develop, and provide comprehensive and integrated healthcare, nutrition, and WASH (Water, Hygiene and Sanitation) services to the South Sudanese public. It has been operating in South Sudan since 2010 and currently implement Health, Nutrition and WASH programmes in Central Equatoria, Lakes, Unity, Jonglei, Eastern Equatoria, Western Barhel Gazal and Western Equatoria States.
Non-Governmental Organizations are obliged to account for donor money in a transparent and auditable manner. It is this reason that we have chosen an open Pre-qualification procedure to find reliable and predictable suppliers to achieve our procurement goal. 2. General Instructions:
Yo’ Care South Sudan invites interested and duly registered business community licensed to conduct business operations within the Republic of South Sudan to present their details to us as per the list of categories below. The bid submissions should include the company’s profile, business registration certificates, capability statements and appropriate product catalogue. Interested vendors /traders may present their submissions in sealed envelopes clearly indicating the category numbers they are interested to be registered under. The envelopes should be dropped in the tender box at Yo’ Care South Sudan’s Juba Office, Plot No.206 Munuki, Block C, Along Antipas Pharma- Upper Nile University Road, 3rd Class Residential Area P.O Box 433 Juba- South Sudan. The Official drop date of the Pre-qualification start on 27th April 2023 and closes on 12th May 2023 before 5:00pm South Sudan Time.
Those interested are requested to provide basic company information guided by the questions listed below;
a) Provide all the information as per the pre-qualification document.
b) Clearly indicate the procurement category being applied for.
c) Yo’ Care South Sudan will examine the document for completeness and responsiveness to the Prequalification Questionnaire (PQQ) Requirements. Incorrect information will render the document ineligible.
d) The Prequalification package should be submitted bound with all pages numbered, countersigned and stamped.
e) The Prequalification committee shall not be responsible for loss of documents through loose binding.
3. Important Notes for Applicants:
1. All tenders marked “CONFIDENTIAL” documents must be delivered physically to the Head Office in Juba during working hours from 8:00am to 5:00 pm.
2. Interested bidders will be registered on the Registration Attendance List during submitting their Pre-qualification documents.
3. Bid documents must be submitted in English language before the deadline date. Late submissions will not be allowed.
4. The sole purpose of this document is to assist Yo’ Care South Sudan in identification and evaluation of potential suppliers who may subsequently be invited to tender or provide quotes for supply of goods and/or services within the respective procurement categories for the year 2023.
5. A separate Questionnaire shall be filled out for EACH PROCUREMENT CATEGORY applied for.
6. The Questionnaires shall be filled in English and shall be prepared in indelible ink.
7. Any Corrections must be initiated by the person or persons who sign(s) the document: Otherwise, the application will be voided.
8. Answer all questions and where the question is not applicable, indicate an N/A. Where necessary, answers shall be provided on separate sheets.
9. The completed document shall be signed off and initialed by Director/Partner of the Organization and rubber stamped on each page and signed on the last page in the space provided
10. As part of this review process, the prequalification committee may request the applicant for a site visit of its premises.
11. The information provided herein is strictly confidential.
12. Successful applicants will be included in the Yo’ Care South Sudan Preferred Suppliers Catalogue for 2023.
13. Potential applicants will be required to register upon bids submission a non-refundable fee of fifty United States Dollars (USD 50), irrespective of the number of categories submitted.
14. The supplier registration /prequalification exercise requires applicants to provide accurate and correct information as follows:
a) Business name with full physical office address (including postal, phone, email, website etc.)
b) Brief Company profile with core business activities, references and organogram
c) Certificate of Incorporation
d) Tax Identification Number/Certificate
e) Tax Compliance/Clearance Certificate
f) VAT Certificate
g) Specialized Category of Interest (not more than 5 per applicant)
h) Application cover letter duly signed by the Decision Maker of the firm-with full names, contacts and designation.
i) Bank Name, branch and account details
j) Bank Statements for the recent 6 months.
k) Reference Letters for similar works from past clients – at least 3 per category.
l) Manufacturer certificate – if available.
