“Dede” – The Oldest Restaurant in Marmaris

Dede Restaurant was opened as a cafeteria by Ali Denizelli (1888-1992) and his daughters in 1973. It continues to serve as the oldest restaurant in Marmaris with the representatives of the 4th generation of the family. Ali Denizelli, also known as “Dede” had spent his 104 years of life between Marmaris and Rhodes as a postman with a small sailboat. Today his grandchildren presents his seafood diet, which is the secret of his long life, as the main menu of Dede Restaurant.

1973 yılında Ali Denizelli (1888-1992) ve kızları tarafından kafeterya olarak hizmete açılan Dede Restaurant bugün ailenin 4. kuşak temsilcileri ile Marmaris’in en eski restoranı olarak hizmet vermeye devam etmekte. 104 yıl süren uzun yaşamının büyük bölümünü Marmaris-Rodos arasında küçük yelkenlisiyle postacılık yaparak geçiren “Dede” Ali Denizelli’nin hatırasını yaşatmak isteyen torunları, onun uzun yaşamının sırrı olan deniz ürünü ağırlıklı diyetini bugün Dede Restaurant’ın ana menüsü olarak misafirlerinin beğenisine sunmakta.
