We will be sharing insights from Boleh Rockets to Formosan Fox and Asfaloth with students from Malaysia Rocket Competition.

At 6:06:38am, Asfaloth lifted to the skies of Xuhai for the first time.

This mission was aimed at shaking down a completely new rocket system and its launch tower, as well as the maiden flight of the Tsua-Ing 1300kgf-class hybrid rocket engine.

The team for Launch-1 is brought together by the students and faculties of ASARe Lab, ARRC and MSCL, NYCU's Mechanical Engineering Department and iSSE, along with program collaborators 國家太空中心 TASA, Autodesk Education TW, 宇宙喵 Kuroro 地球總部, 益材科技.

【陽明交大 Asfaloth Launch-1 探空火箭順利升空】

今天早上 6:06, 國立陽明交通大學 National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University 航太系統與流體力學實驗室(Aerospace Systems & Aerodynamics Research, ASARe Lab,阿莎力)順利執行Asfaloth探空火箭第一次飛試任務! 🚀

Asfaloth 火箭長 5.2 公尺、直徑 26.5 公分,重 190 公斤。本次飛試主要目的是驗證火箭的系統整合,像是訊號傳輸狀況、實際飛行與事前模擬的吻合程度等等,並未搭載酬載。

這次飛試裝填的燃料僅為全型火箭的 1/3,火箭推力約 1000 公斤,燃燒約 10 秒,推進約 5 秒,總衝約為 50000 牛頓·秒,射高約 3000 公尺。

帶領阿莎力團隊的機械系助理教授陳竺博淵表示,日後全型火箭發射將推進 15 秒,射高十公里,計畫明年中旬飛試。

火箭名稱 Asfaloth 來自奇幻文學作品《魔戒》中一位精靈的坐騎名字,象徵搭載「精靈」穿越音障(日後火箭預計搭載的儀器酬載縮寫為 AsyncELF,其中elf正好為英文精靈之意)。

這次發射任務結合了三個團隊,共約 25 人──ASARe 主導執行箭體系統整合與發射塔設計;前瞻火箭研究中心(ARRC) 提供名為「蛇鷹」的混合式燃料火箭引擎;微機電伺服控制實驗室(MSCL) 提供傳輸航電系統。

先前 ARRC 團隊曾在旭海測試雙節火箭「HTTP-3A」的第二節箭體,兩節箭體的引擎功能與設計各不相同,全型的 HTTP-3A 正在研發中,後續團隊將第一節的主力引擎命名為「蛇鷹」;而此次 Asfaloth 火箭正使用 ARRC 團隊提供的「蛇鷹」混合式燃料火箭引擎,此為蛇鷹引擎首次飛試,這也成為 HTTP-3A 雙節火箭飛試的前哨!

陽明交大目前有三支火箭團隊,研發不同類型火箭。ARRC 以具導控能力的科研火箭為目標,目標射高100 公里;ASARe 的科研探空火箭不具導控能力,射高 100 公里以內;Formosan Fox 團隊則以比賽型火箭為主,已兩度參加美國太空港盃探空火箭比賽。


▍ 關於「短期科研探空火箭發射場」
國科會於屏東旭海設置「短期科研探空火箭發射場域」,由太空中心審查申請及營運管理。迄今已發射陽明交大「HTTP-3A」S2、成功大學兩節式混合火箭、淡江大學「淡江一型」火箭、「Jessie」火箭、逢甲大學「SHSR-Aero1」;今日的「Asfaloth」為該場域啟用以來發射的第 6 個科研探空火箭任務。

🚀【探空火箭任務公告】陽明交通大學「Asfaloth」

適合飛試任務的季節又到了~

就在這周日, 國立陽明交通大學 National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University 航太系統與流體力學實驗室(ASARe Lab)團隊要測試他們的探空火箭「Asfaloth」!

本次飛試的發射窗口為 7/21(日)清晨 06:00~08:00,發射前 30 分鐘,發射場南北約一公里將封閉道路,禁止人車通行。若當日因天候等因素未能於窗口發射,將另外擇期發射。


「Asfaloth」火箭長 5.2 公尺、直徑 26.5 公分、重量 190 公斤;火箭預計燃燒 5 秒、射高約三公里,此次飛試裝填燃料僅日後全型火箭的 1/3。

此次發射任務結合三個團隊,包含 ASARe、前瞻火箭研究中心 ARRC、微機電伺服控制實驗室 MSCL。

這是旭海場域啟用以來的第六次任務~若有人想至現場,請在發射日當天清晨交管前抵達旭海漁港旁的「科研探空火箭觀看區」喔,也建議攜帶望遠鏡,確認食宿安排,事前準備充足飲水、防曬及雨具等用品,並確保車輛油料
