424th ANNIVERSARY OF THE OLDEST LODGE MINUTE
Lodge of Aitcheson's Haven first Minute dated 9 January 1599 marks the passing of 424 years. (For the precise reasons for using 1599 instead of 1598 was explained in the post of 1 January 2016)

The First Minute reads as follows:
1598
The IX day of Januerie the Zeir of God upon ye [the] quhilk [which] day Robert Widderspone was maid fellow of Craft in ye [the] presens of Wilzam Ayton Elder, John Fender being Warden, John Pedden [,] Thomas Pettencrief [,] John Crafurd [,] George Aytone [,] Wilzame Aytone younger [,] Hendrie Petticrief all fellowis of Craft upon ye [the] quhilk [which] day he chois [chose] George Ayton [,] Johne Pedden to be his intenders and instructouris [mentors and instructors] and also ye [the] said Robert hes [has] payit [paid] his xx sh [20 shillings] and [has given] his gluffis [gloves] to everie Maister [Master] as efferis [afterwards].

The details within the square brackets: [,] are either to provide the meaning of certain words (the Minute is written in what is known as Middle Scots), give modern punctuation or aid clarity in reading the text.

The above paragraph is a transcription and translation of the very first entry in a Lodge Minute Book.

The Brothers in Freemasonry love our Fraternity but sometimes life takes us away from the things we enjoy.

Don't let this happen to you. Brothers, your Lodges need you now as they always have. Don't assume that they will always be there waiting for your return. A Lodge is not our buildings but the assemblage of good and upright men who gather there. Never assume that you don't have anything to offer. Your presence and ideas could be the difference between a Lodge closing/merging and thriving in our community.

Every single Brother is an asset to their Lodge. We need experienced Masons and Past Masters to help teach the influx of new men coming into the Fraternity. We need your passion and desire to help to ensure our Lodges grow and continue to do what they've always done to support the communities in which we operate. .

What do you say Brothers?

BANISH NEGATIVITY FROM YOUR LIFE

You will need the following items for this spell:

1. Sea salt
2. Five white candles
3. Dry Rosemary or Sage or Sandalwood/myrrh or add all of them.

** Casting Instructions for 'Banishing Negative Energy'

“ Before I begin, allow me to explain how negative energy works. According to the philosophical belief, "Law of attraction", what one puts in is what one receives. In other words, if one is full of negativity, one attracts unfortunate outcomes. If one holds positive energy, one attracts fortunate, or better outcomes. It is important to dispose of negative energy, especially when casting a spell meant to bring fortune.”

First, use the sea salt to create a circle large enough for one to be able to sit in a meditative position.
Say:: By the Power of this Salt, I cast negativity away, with this Salt presence no bad spirit can cross this circle. Am protected by Mother Earth.

>>The purpose of the sea salt is to transfer the negative energy from the person to the sea salt, and cleaner energy from the sea salt to the intended person.

Then, place the five candles around the sea salt circle as if forming a pentagram.
Say:: By the power of the Elements, By Air of East, By Fire of South, By Water of West, By Earth of North, and By the Highest spirits Above and Below me, the circle is cast for my intentions and purpose.. I allow good spirits that align with my rite to enter and serve me for good outcome.

>>The purpose of the candles is for uncrossing or aids the intended person to clear their mind.

Burn the dried herbs as incense to banish any uninvited spirit or negativity out from entering the circle.
Say:: I cast out every negative spirit or thoughts out of this sacred space, begone for you are not invited.

Next, sit in the middle of the circle, and meditate for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Visualize the exchange in energies. Feel the mind and body becoming calmer. Finally, after 15 to 20 minutes, blow out the candles. Dispose of the sea salt, for it cannot be reused due to the negative energy it holds.

Blessed be.

How To Connect With Your Angel in Everyday Life.

1. Pay attention to what feels like strong intuition, or your "gut." Some people believe that this is the main way angels communicate with us. If you need to make a tough decision and don't have time to meditate, mentally ask your angel. If an answer pops into your head, your angel may be guiding you

2. Keep a notebook.
Write down whatever you think your angel may be telling you. Record inspirations that may occur during meditation. Memories are easily confused and insights forgotten. Having a clear reminder will help you keep your thoughts organized.

3. Remember that your guardian angel is by your side. The feeling of never being alone and always being protected is the greatest gift an angel can give. Let this knowledge give you the confidence to get you through tough times.

*Try imagining that your guardian angel is standing right behind you whenever you have to do something that is difficult. Doing so will help to give you strength and remind you that your guardian angel is watching over you.

VOODOU LOA SPIRIT- BAWON SAMEDI
Master and Ruler of the Cemetery

Baron Samedi is the leader of the Barons and possibly the Gedés. He presides over a sprawling, confusing, complex clan of spirits. When people speak of the Baron, they tend to mean Baron Samedi. Baron Samedi literally means Baron Saturday, which may sound innocuous compared to Baron Cemetery or Kriminel, but Saturday was the one day when Christ was really, truly dead, the day between the crucifixion on Friday and resurrection on Sunday. On Saturday, even Jesus must answer to the Baron, Lord of the Dead.

Baron Samedi is Grand Master of the Celestial Masonic Lodge of Vodou Spirits, a thirty-second-degree-initiated Mason. He is invoked to contact and communicate with the dead (he determines whether they can come visit or not). He may be petitioned to remove bothersome ghosts and invoked to ward off death.

He a powerful healer and is especially sympathetic to terminally ill children. Baron Samedi rules the cemetery: no one can die until he gives permission for their grave to be dug. Baron Samedi is lewd, obscene, and vulgar, but he can be just and kind. He prefers that children live full lives before joining him in the cemetery.

Baron Samedi is the crossroads where s*x and death meet. Spirit of the undying life-force, he may be petitioned for fertility. He is the guardian of ancestral knowledge and the link to your ancestral spirits. If one lens keeps popping out of your dark glasses, the Baron may be seeking your attention or offering his patronage.

Baron Samedi is syncretized to Jesus Christ as they share the symbol of the cross. (Baron Samedi’s associations with the cross may pre-date Christianity. In Congolese cosmology, the cross is the symbol of the life cycle: birth-death-rebirth.) He may also be syncretized to Saint Expedite.

Also known as: Bawon Samdi (Kreyol); Baron Sandi (Spanish); Baron Saturday

Classification: Loa

Favored people:
Children; women seeking to conceive; funeral workers; grave diggers; those whose work brings them into contact with death

Manifestation:
Baron Samedi’s manifests as an older, dark-skinned man in formal attire, dressed completely in black. He wears a black top hat, black suit, and may be smoking one of his beloved ci**rs. He wears impenetrable black sunglasses:

• The glasses may be missing a lens because he possesses two kinds of vision: he simultaneously sees the realms of the living and the dead.

• Alternatively his glasses have but one lens because a p***s has but one eye and the phallus is his attribute (and because he loves s*xual humor and innuendo).

Iconography: Baron Samedi’s throne is a chair chained to a cross. Images of Darth Vader are used to represent him (or just to decorate his altar; he likes toys).

Attributes: Coffin; phallus; skull,
cross-bones; shovel; grave;
black sunglasses; cross

Offerings: Black coffee, plain bread, dry toast, roasted peanuts. He drinks rum in which twenty-one very hot peppers have been steeped. Ci**rs, ci******es, dark sunglasses, Day of the Dead toys, the s*xier and more macabre the better; raise a skull and crossbones pirate flag for him; beautiful wrought-iron crosses are crafted in his honor.

Colors: Black, red and purple

Day: Saturday night

Feasts: 2 November, 24 April
Days of the Dead:

Numbers: 3, 7, 21

Time: Twilight tends to be a good time to invoke him or make requests.

Consort: Madame Brigitte; they may be petitioned together for fertility, protection, or to save ailing children.

Urgent Money Spell

when money is urgently needed by a certain date, this spell works wonders. One thing to remember: it must be performed at the witching hour of midnight.(2-3-4am)

Take one white tea light candle to be placed on each money that you critically need. Stand them on a gold plate you often eat from.

At a quarter to midnight, sit in a room with no electric lights. Light a gold or, green candle (not one of those representing the needed money). This is the candle that will give power to the “money” votive candles and will enable you to see what you are doing.

Now work your magic. Pray for a circle of gold light to be placed around you for protection and for a circle of blue light to be placed around you for healing.

Pick up a votive candle and light it from the main candle flame. As you do so, say that the votive you are lighting represents the $100 or $1000 you need. Place on the plate to begin a circle of “money” candles.

Light each votive, and say the same words for each, until the circle is complete.

Say a prayer explaining that you are not being greedy; that the money is necessary. Leave the candles to burn out of their own accord. The money will soon start winging its way to you.
