Our team successfully participated in a short training course on Carbon Trading held at the Forestry Industries Training Institute (FITI) in Moshi, Kilimanjaro.

This training was crucial in enhancing our knowledge and understanding of carbon trading practices and eligibility requirements in Tanzania. The program took place from October 7 to October 11, 2024, and was organized by FITI under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism.

Last week, we had the joy of hosting a two-day workshop for our scholarship students, covering topics like personal growth, leadership, community problem-solving, health awareness, and more.

We were honored to have inspiring speakers, including Zumrath from the EU Youth Sounding Board in Tanzania, and friends from Azam TV, among others.
By the end of the workshop, it was clear that we are nurturing a new generation of young people, inspired and motivated to bring positive change to our community.
We are immensely grateful for the support we have received for our scholarship campaigns and funding efforts. Together, we are building a brighter future for our community and the world.

Hi fellas! So yesterday we had the best celebration in our village that made us so busy we forgot to post here 😀

We had the celebration of World Environment Day to motivate our community in protecting and conserving our environment. The day was full of funny moments from small acts/drama and songs, and having lunch together with the community members. We invited our local leaders, community elders, community natural and traditional healers, teachers, doctors, political members, community officers, community groups, youth, and children to the event. Trust me, this was the best event we’ve had so far this year as it involved all parts of our community at once!
Did I just forgot to mention that we planted trees in the village? Please swipe and see the pictures along with our story.

You might like to know our message of the day? Well, our message was direct to the community that we can't do this alone; we need to put in all our efforts and have everyone play their role for our environment! Would you like to be part of this journey or play a role? Do you have any suggestions on what we can add to our actions? Please let us know through direct message or email! Thank you!

🌳 Happy International Day of Forests! 🌳

Today, let's reflect on the crucial significance of forests globally. Did you know Tanzania lost approximately 412,300 hectares of forest between 1990 and 2000, according to Forest Global Watch?

Shockingly, in 2022 alone, 4.1 million hectares of primary tropical forest were lost worldwide, equivalent to the size of Switzerland or 11 football pitches per minute.

At SANA, we advocate for community conservation initiatives to safeguard our forests.
As Costa Coucoulis said, "The forest is not merely an expression or representation of sacredness, nor a place to invoke the sacred; the forest is sacredness itself."

Let's empower and educate communities to protect and nurture our precious forest ecosystems.
