Waziri wa Nchi, Ofisi ya Waziri Mkuu (Kazi, Vijana, Ajira na Wenye Ulemavu) Mhe. Ridhiwani Kikwete amefunga maadhimisho ya siku ya vijana kitaifa yaliyofanyika katika Ukumbi wa Jakaya Kikwete Convention Centre jijini .

Mbali na mambo mengine, Waziri Ridhiwani Kikwete ametembelea banda la Amref Health Africa Tanzania na kuelezwa namna shirika linavyounga mkono juhudi za serikali katika kuhakikisha miradi mbalimbali inayotekelezwa na shirika kwa kushirikiana na wadau wake inavyolenga kutatua changamoto zinazowakabili (vijana) katika masuala ya Afya ili kuboresha maisha yao na jamii nzima kwa ujumla.

Kauli mbiu ya mwaka huu ni; “Vijana na Matumizi ya Fursa za Kidijitali kwa Maendeleo Endelevu”.

2️⃣ 📸 The U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation visited Mnazi Mmoja Hospital –Care and Treatment Clinic (CTC) in Zanzibar, where Amref Health Africa Tanzania implements the CDCTanzania funded project which provides HIV prevention and treatment programs.

The delegation heard powerful testimonies on PMTCT-CECAP and MAT, and took a tour of the CTC and Cervical Cancer Screening room, highlighting the impact of our programs.

Under the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) project, The delegation visited, the Zanzibar Public Health Emergency Operations Center, experiencing firsthand of our community-level alert systems and surveillance efforts.

Our strong collaboration with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) has played a crucial role in enabling the delivery of person-centered HIV services and strengthening community health systems to enhance equitable and sustainable access to quality primary healthcare for Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Kupitia ufadhili wa The U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) - CDCTanzania, Amref Health Africa Tanzania inashirikiana na Wizara ya Afya Zanzibar, Mamlaka ya Kudhibiti na Kupambana na Dawa za kulevya Zanzibar (ZDCEA) na wadau wengine katika kutoa huduma za waraibu ambapo huduma za MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) hutolewa kwa waraibu wa dawa za kulevya katika hospitali ya Kidongo Chekundu Zanzibar.

Amref Health Africa Tanzania kupitia ufadhili wa The U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) - CDCTanzania tumeungana na Serikali kupitia Wizara ya Afya Zanzibar (), Mamlaka ya Kudhibiti na Kupambana na Dawa za kulevya Zanzibar (ZDCEA), Wadau na Wataalam mbalimbali katika Kongamano la kujadili mipango na mikakati ya kupiga Vita Matumizi ya Dawa za Kulevya Zanzibar .

Kongamano hilo lililofanyika katika ukumbi wa Makonyo Wawi Chake Chake ambapo maadhimisho ya kitaifa ya Siku ya Kupiga Vita Matumizi ya Dawa za Kulevya Zanzibar yalifanyika chini ya kauli mbiu; “Ushahidi Upo Wazi Tuwekeze Katika Kukinga”.

Waziri wa Nchi Ofisi ya Makamu wa Kwanza wa Rais, Bi Harusi Sadi Suleiman akiwa Mgeni Rasmi amewataka wadau, kuendelea kuunganisha nguvu za pamoja kwenye mapambano dhidi ya tatizo hilo ili kutokomeza kabisa Vita Matumizi ya Dawa za Kulevya Zanzibar.

Donation of Medical Equipment and Supplies for Safe Delivery in Zanzibar

Today Amref Health Africa Tanzania, in partnership with Wizara ya Afya Zanzibar and Absa Bank Tanzania, along with several other partners, has donated essential medical supplies and equipment to the Ministry of Health for distribution to 28 health facilities. The significant contribution is part of the “Uzazi ni Maisha Wogging” (Walk-Jog-Run) initiative, which aims to support health facilities in Zanzibar with medical equipment and supplies for safe delivery, improving maternal and child health outcomes.

Speaking during the hand-over ceremony held at the Ministry of Health office in Zanzibar, Hon. Nassor Ahmed Mazrui, Zanziba’s Minister of Health, highlighted that a total of 28 healthcare centers will directly benefit from this program. “Supporting safe delivery in Zanzibar with medical supplies and equipment is crucial and much needed. It is our duty to ensure these supplies and equipment are consistently available and used as intended, as this is the pathway to saving lives of Zanzibaris, especially mothers and newborns,” he said.

📸This week Amref Health Africa Tanzania was part of the Strengthening Midwifery in Tanzania Project -(“Thamini Uzazi Salama”) Introduction and Planning meeting in Shinyanga region, graced by Shinyanga Regional Commissioner, Hon. Anamringi Macha. The meeting, led by UNFPA Tanzania, brought together stakeholders from Wizara ya Afya Tanzania, Ofisi ya Rais - Tamisemi, Regional District Authorities, and other partners # &

Together, we aim to empower midwives and improve maternal and newborn health over the next 7 years in Shinyanga and Dar es Salaam regions.

The project is funded by Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada@, will be implemented in key districts and municipal councils.

The delegation visited Mwanza and Zanzibar where they witnessed CDCTanzania funded projects implemented by Amref Health Africa Tanzania in collaboration with Wizara ya Afya Tanzania & Wizara ya Afya Zanzibar

In Mwanza, the delegation visited the CDCTanzania funded Public Health Emergency Operation Center (PHEOC) which is essential for disease detection; while in Zanzibar, they visited Kidongo Chekundu MAT Clinic Hospital where CDC funded MAT services for Key and Vulnerable Populations are provided as part of HIV/AIDS prevention efforts.
