FAMILY ART THERAPY, painting "OUR PALMS"👐🏻

Often, parents work a lot, take care of household choreі or just are emotionally tired and to spend time with their children. The war in Ukraine adds stress, which increases the distance between parents and children even more.

In order to increase closeness with your child, New Hope Center offers families a method called family art therapy 🎨 Drawing has a calming effect, which helps to relax and decrease stress level.

At this session, we painted a family picture "Our palms" 👐🏻Painting palms involves touching, which helps to strengthen physical ties. It also increases the ability to agree, for example on the choice of color or how the picture should look. And the most important thing is having a close contact with the child and spending quality time together🫶🏻

Today, the "New Hope Center" serves the people of Zaporizhzhia, both displaced and locals, who have suffered mentally and physically from ongoing war. Professional counseling and physical therapy sessions are provided to children and adults who experience despair and fear, have high levels of stress and sleep problems. At New Hope Center they get strength and hope for the future.

The children were stressed, moody, and afraid. At the moment, these problems no longer exist. Thanks to your professional psychologists, our children started to feel better. The atmosphere that prevails here (at New Hope Center), and the attitude to us, to the children, is very warm.
My life has changed for the better, because when we came here, everything was ambiguous. Your phrase "it is necessary to create warm atmosphere where there is a woman" was very helpful. 🏠Two years after Russia’s full-scale invasion of our country we are closing our transit shelter for displaced people in Zaporizhya. Over the past two years we hosted over 1,100 people, providing shelter and meals as they fled conflict and fighting. Though we are closing one chapter of our ministry, God is allowing us to open the next one.

🔶We will be using the same facility to offer physical therapy and renewal for those needing it. This will strengthen our ongoing counseling ministry we have been providing as we continue serving the wholistic needs of the people of Zaporizhya who have suffered from the war.

🔷Children and adults experiencing despair, fear, high stress, and problems with sleep are receiving professional counseling and physical therapy and through this gain strength to move forward now and build hope for the future. We are thankful to our partners Multiply and MCC for enabling us to serve others in this way. 🙏💙💛

On April 6 our 🔹 NEW HOPE CENTER 🔸 women's part of the team hosted an event for ladies titled "I'm Just a Woman, Just a Woman I Am..."

🌷This gathering provided a wonderful opportunity for women to connect, share experiences and most important - support one another during difficult war time in our country. Our program was full of diverse activities, including games, giveaways, beautiful gifts and the chance to create personalized flowers from texture paste. And what can we say about the food treats? 🤩 They were delicious and healthy.

🌷May our events continue to be a place where strength is renewed and inspiration is found. The place where we learn from one other, supporting each other every step of our path.
