We are loving having our very own Ms. Brooke Garduno, currently studying dance and kinesiology at Texas A&M, back home in studio teaching intensives this week! We are so proud of the dancer she is and the teacher she is growing to be!

Ms Brooke will be teaching our last summer class tonight, so you definitely don’t want to miss it!! 🩰 💕

We wish to send a very big thank you to our very own Mr. Jared Mesa, artistic director of Western Arkansas Ballet, for a fabulous week of intensives. It is always a joy to have Mr. Jared guest teach for us and we so enjoy his class! 🩰 💞

Mr. Jared will be back in August for our annual summer II intensive, including our pas de deux class. ✨

We want to send a huge thank you to our very own PHDS alumni Claire Siewert, from the San Antonio Youth Ballet, for kicking off our summer I ballet intensive! Having Ms Claire back in the studio has been such a delight and a great learning opportunity for all in attendance! Thank you!

🦢 Princess Ballet camp had so much fun for swan lake day! We got to do our ballet barre, hear the story of swan lake and make our very own swan tiaras like Princess Odette! What magical story awaits us next week? Well you will have to wait and see! 🩰

“Once Upon a Christmas Eve” is a family friend show sure to put you in the Christmas spirit. This show spotlights some of the amazing talent we have here in Abilene! It brings the beautiful world of ballet together with the fast excitement of tap and jazz! You’re sure to know several of the classic Christmas carols that bring the story of Arabella and her journey from NYC 5th Avenue to the North Pole to life!

Dear Patty Harper Dance Studio dancers, friends and families-

With the heaviest hearts, we must announce the passing of our sweet friend, mentor and founder, Patty Harper. She died Saturday morning, October 7th at the glorious age of 99.

Some of you may have been lucky enough to have met Ms. Patty throughout the years, maybe at recitals or shows, or perhaps you were a student of hers yourself. For those who never got the pleasure, know that she was wonderful. She was bold and unique, creative and graceful. She wore many hats throughout her beautiful life and wore them fabulously, of course. She was a mother, a daughter, a wife, a sister, a teacher, a Mimi, an entrepreneur, an artist, and a friend to so many. She was a blessing to a small town hungry for a touch of culture only a bubbly and brave character like hers could deliver. She tapped and twirled her way through every room with charm and elegance, and she loved with intention and tenderness throughout her incredible life.

Everything we are able to do is because of this wonderful lady, Ms. Patty Harper. She laid the framework for this amazing and loving community we have, this family, this space that so many generations have called home. She is a part of every brick and floorboard, every music note and every joyful moment that happens in this haven she created for us. We are so blessed to have the chance to be part of the legacy she left for us, at the studio and beyond.

Ms. Patty loved all of you, “loved you more than bacon,” and she will be so, so missed. We should all so be grateful to have been touched by this beautiful and remarkable human’s light. We march forward as she would have, on the eight count, with courage and kindness, grace and love.

At Patty Harper Dance Studio we love any opportunity to partner with other local organizations to share and inspire the next generation of young artist and performers.

We are delighted to perform downtown for the annual Art Walk! celebration, tonight, hosted by the Center for Contemporary Arts.

Friday, Kristy Kristinek’s will give a live demonstration and creation of an original piece. You will also find our Patty Harper Dance Studio dancers bringing art to life through their interpretation of Kristy Kristinek’s paintings.

Turning Princesses into Queens ❄️

Our Pre-Ballet program is designed for dancers ages 3 to 5. This class allows our dancers to learn the basics of ballet technique while having fun! Every classes is filled with imagination, creativity and exercises to build your dancers technique and confidence while introducing them to the magical world of dance! 🩰
