With extremely cold weather coming this weekend, here are important preparedness tips for individuals on oxygen:

• Ensure your portable oxygen concentrator batteries are fully charged.
• Conserve any portable oxygen tanks for use during an extended outage.
• Consider having a back-up plan, such as a church or shelter, in the event of an extended outage. Be sure to take your home equipment with you for use.
• Call your power company and let them know you are an oxygen patient. They will be able to add your area to a high-priority list for any needed repairs.
