Happy July 4th! As we celebrate our nations independence, Its time for all Abilene and area photographers to celebrate the BIG NEWS! We are very excited to announce the opening of the NEW Fotowork Studios! A lot of work is being put into this effort to make FWS the premier photography studio and creative center for all of us. Our location? Its on the fourth floor of the building on North 2nd and Pine, above the Grain Theory restaurant, one of the most desirable locations in Abilene!

Introducing FotoWorks: Where Creativity Soars and Success Awaits!

Here we are on the rooftop of the Grain Theory - where we have access from our new GORGEOUS studio space right in the heart of downtown Abilene!

Fotoworkstudios and some of it's original members are part of what made me into the photographer that I am today. I'm so excited and honored to be able to give back what I was given over a decade ago. This isn't just a dream studio space for us, it's a commitment to building our photography community in Abilene back to even better than what we had prior to 2020. It's a meeting space for sharing and creating with other artists. I believe that even with something very personal, such as art, we can only go so far solo and completely on our own. We ALL grow and thrive further and bigger with true community.

We have so much planned and already in the works for our local photographer friends! Get ready for social meet ups and gatherings, workshops from some of the top photographers in their industry, play days, photo walks, shootouts, and more! Meet today’s featured artist, Steve Ellinger, owner of Steve Ellinger Photography!

Steve is a current board member of FWS and widely successful Fashion photographer. Steve brings architecture and photography together to create an unprecedented style in the fashion industry.

From Steve: I started FWS about 14 years ago after working in a similar arrangement in Boston called "Camerawork's". I wanted to create a photography community that will promote and teach photography. Our first three members were Kevin Halliburton and Doug Hodel.

Come join us at the best equipped professional studio in West Texas, fully equipped with Paul Buff Alien Bee strobes, a large assortment of light modifiers, two studios (natural light and dedicated strobe), dressing room, heat and especially AC!!! All this for a low $200/ month. This price includes utilities!! This is a great tool to help you earn extra income or even begin a new career. We plan to have an open house soon and even host some public shoots.
