This past year we witnessed our Athletes take stages at a wide range of Events, from Paris Olympics to National Championships to Final Four Tournament to various Showcases around the Country, and so much more!
Our Model is straight forward: we emphasize Strength & Speed. Somewhere in between we do Mobility, Return to Play, etc. But never lose Focus of our End Goal of Building every single Athlete to Stronger, Faster, and More Resilient.

Sure, we have “Technology” that helps us Measure what’s going on with our Athletes. Especially when we are trying to get specifics in something like Meters per Second during Sprints. Or even specific Centimeters for Jump scores.
But let’s be honest, there is not an iPad in the world that will ever replace the Craftsmanship of a Professional Coach.
Any Great Coach will be able to tell you everything you need to know with just a Barbell and simply watching you Sprint or Jump. We don’t need goofy, over-priced Machines.
Between Coach Ronnie and Coach Rob, there is combined 28+ years of Experience that cannot be matched.

At OAKFIT, we pride ourselves on the individuality of our training for each athlete, but also the high level of coaching that we provide.
We have 4 coaches on staff, all with unique characteristics and abilities to help guide and connect with our athletes to help them achieve their performance goals.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest addition to the team, Caleb Jonas! Caleb is wrapping up his first month with us at OAKFIT and has been a perfect addition to our team. Caleb played college baseball and has been a strength coach for athletes since 2022.

“What Age Is A Good Age To Start Strength Training?”
This is a question we get several times a month, and our answer remains the same. As long as the athlete is ready to train, there is a program for them. Age is not a limiting factor in the ability to learn new skills and get stronger.
Injury risk for adolescent athletes is extremely low in a supervised gym setting.
In fact, the risk is exponentially higher for youth athletes when participating in team sports. Yet parents and coaches alike continue to increase the frequency and intensity of team sports and younger ages.
Our goal as youth strength coaches is to prepare these athletes for the increased demands of their sport. The main focus is to teach and improve basic skills that will transfer to increased performance and decreased risk for injury.
A youth athlete who trains for just one hour, just one time per week starting at age 10, will have 156 training sessions completed when their peers start at age 13. This will benefit them greatly as they approach their high school years.

ACL Rehabilitation & Prevention For Athletes
Over the last 3 years, we have developed a reputation as the go to facility for mid to late stage ACL rehabilitation for athletes in DFW.
In this photo alone, we have 4 OAKFIT athletes that have successfully rehabbed their ACL injuries with a full return to play, and 2 that are well on their way to a successful recovery.
Our goal is to not only provide top of the line programming and recovery plans, but also empower our recovering athletes to have a positive approach to their rehab. We know it can be hard mentally to have the sport you love taken from you, but with proper rehab and a lot of hard work we will have you back on the field / court in no time.
Huge shoutout to Gabby Jackson, Sam Jackson, Celine Ebert, Lila Puig, Adiah Stemmerich, and our very own Coach Lindsay for their resilience and hard work to get back to doing what they love.
Remember strength training can help with recovering from injury, but it is also one of the best ways to prevent injury before it happens.

Back to School has a whole new meaning when the Kids we have watched Grow Up in our Weight Room leave for their First Year of Away for College.
For Us, the Relationships with our Kids becomes much more Meaningful than just the Workouts.
Although we are sad to see some of our Favorite Athletes leave, we also have full Confidence that each of them are Prepared for the Next Stage of their Life.
Shoutout to our Freshman Class of Collegiate Athletes! We Love You guys and we could not be more Proud of each and every one of you!
Athlete of the Month: Abby B., Penn State, Lacrosse
Yesterday we said farewell to Abby as she heads up to Penn State to report for team activities.
Abby defines Hardest Worker in the Room!! The Results she was able to Achieve in just under 6 Weeks are Proof.
Using Timing Gates, we implemented Drills to focus on Abby’s Acceleration & Max Velocity. Her Speed scores Improved roughly 4-7%, which is HUGE!
Abby’s Strength & Power went through the roof! From her Power Clean to her Bench Press, and even Chin Ups! (We will be expecting a Chin Up Video from Penn State soon!)
We also monitored her Muscle & Body Composition, she was able to Gain 2lbs of SMM and Drop over 1% of excess BF.
Performance aside, Abby brought Energy & Focus to every Session. She is Strong & Determined, and we could not be more Proud of everything she is.
Can’t wait to see you DOMINATE at Penn State, Abby!

Coach Nolan’s Top 4️⃣ Strength Training Secrets:
1️⃣ If you want to get Stronger, you have to Lift Heavier weights. Coach Nolan says this is his proprietary recipe for success, and that he secretly adds Weights to the Barbell when his Athletes aren’t looking.
2️⃣ Critique the Technique. When asked about his opinion on lifting with poor form, Coach Nolan replied “No crybabies in my weight room, either do it the right way or hit highway.”
3️⃣ Bring the Intensity! Coach Nolan stops at nothing to ensure his Clients get success and squeeze out every last Rep. He says it doesn’t matter if it’s Mommy or one of the tough guys, he’s not letting you off easy!
4️⃣ Don’t forget to Smile and Have Fun! Coach Nolan agrees that staying Focused is important, but it’s ok to Laugh and enjoy those around you!
