or, stretch in this fashion, to open up chest (pec) and attachments that wrap around the arm bone.
the 2 LARGEST muscles on your upper half of the body (lats and pec major, not pictured), internally rotate the arm bone (humerus). as for the ratio of internal rotation muscles TO external rotation muscles, we are anatomically outnumbered with internal rotation. this exercise/movement in the link below, is the opposite of that (external rotation) and helps balance the ratio since we do everything infront of us, making slight internal rotation normal yet unbalanced.
the muscles in the video are type 1 muscle, where low weight and high reps is optimal; do not aim to use heavy weight.
