It was a high Sabbath yesterday as we had a baptism, two master guide recognitions with an update from the Pathfinders Gillette trip and a wonderful message by Pastor Tye Davis, visiting from Germany. Congratulations to Abriella on her baptism and TJ and Bryce on Master Guide.

It was a fun, interesting and faith testing week. On Sunday our club split up and did different activities before meeting up in the evening at a former Aiea church members home (Eric and Irene Chow) for a delicious dinner. Then on Monday we all headed for Gillette. We set up our own tents and got settled amongst all the dust blowing around us.
Tuesday was our first day of scheduled events. Dansynne, Cailyn, Danitti and Chloe competed in the basic drill competition and won first place! The other pathfinders used the afternoon to go around and do various honors or pin trading. Our girls were scheduled to perform hula on the main stage for the evening program. But due to a big storm the evening program was canceled. At the end of the storm, there was a double rainbow in the sky. Many camporee goers lost tents, and some locations had water up their shins. God protected us as no one was injured. Wednesday morning activities were canceled, including our Pacific Union parade. In the afternoon, pathfinders did honors/pin trading and then headed to the evening program.
Thursday and Friday were great weather days except it was a bit chilly. Many honors and pin trades were accomplished both days. The camporee had to be shortened by one day due to another predicted storm so TJ and Bryce got pinned as Master Guides at our Hawaii Conference camp-site church service. Our hula girls also performed during that time.
Overall it was a good experience, despite all the uncertainties and cancellations. The devil was working hard this week but ‘God was weaving’. Thank you all for the continued prayers over our pathfinder club and leaders.
Yesterday our pathfinders were finally able to have a full day of honors and activities, including serving the community! There has also been a lot of pin trading taking place.
So proud of our girls!!!
We’ve made it to Gillette and are settled in for our first night at camp. Please keep us and all the pathfinder clubs in your prayers as we start the week.
On Sabbath we drove the wilderness trail loop and saw many donkeys, bison and prairie dogs along the way. It was so cool to pet the donkeys and get so close to the bison. We then met at Custer State Park at Center Lake for water activities and picnic lunches. See Facebook for more photos.
Day 2: The pathfinders spent day 2 at Rush Mountain Adventure Park. We had fun on the mountain coaster, the sky flier, the ropes course and the cave tour.
The Pathfinders first stop of the road trip began at Mt. Rushmore where we saw the lighting of the monument.
Some of our Aiea Ali’i Pathfinders are on the way to Gillette! We spent the day at Rush Mountain Adventure park today, near Mt. Rushmore.
