We are having a youth led service this Saturday night at Grace-Pointe it will begin at 6:03. This is a great thing considering the way of the world these days. We have youth that is taking a Saturday night to get together and worship. Please come support and look forward to a great time.

Mid-Week Word of Encouragement

Exodus 25:8 - “And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.”

This instruction pertains to the tabernacle. A tent of meeting, if you will, and was given a few short weeks after God delivered the children of Israel from Egypt. Here, God is expressing His desire to dwell among His people for the purpose of worship. The tabernacle and even later the temple served as places where people could come together and worship. This wasn’t a new concept per say because even Cain and Abel had an appointed time to come together and worship. The patriarchs of ole built altars to worship and to commemorate sacred sites where they experienced God.

I say all that to say this…

The idea that present day corporate worship through means of church is out dated and can be replaced with something else is simply not Biblical. The Bible communicates a very consistent and clear message from Genesis even into the book of Revelation that exhorts us to come together and worship God.

Don’t allow the temptation of convenience to deceive you.

Mid-Week Word of Encouragement:

Psalm 40: 1-2 - “I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”

Although David mentioned he waited, we are not to think that he was idle. Waiting includes worshiping. There should never be a moment, even when we are waiting on God, where we are not actively worshiping Him. This is why God inclined or bent down to David in his time of affliction.

God delivered David from his present crisis and established him in a more secure place. Notice that deliverance came as a result of David’s worship and confident expectation in God.

Hebrews 13: 1-2 - “Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.”

The reality of this passage struck home earlier this week for Kelley Taylor and I. Strangers are people that you have never met, people that you don’t know exist; and yet it is these kind of people who step-into your life when least expected and when most needed.

Why? How? Because God is ALWAYS watching over his children.

True, these strangers may not be adorned with halos and angel wings, but rest assured in the eyes of God, and in the eyes of those that they minister to; they are indeed angels.

Don’t ever doubt God! Don’t ever doubt the power of faith-filled prayer! God is still on throne!

Galatians 5: 1 - “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”
