The 43rd annual event presented by the Volunteers of Akron Children's will return to the John S. Knight Center Nov. 16-24, with a Preview Gala Nov. 15. As we begin thinking about going back to school and fall sports, parents are scheduling their child's next doctor's appointments. Whether your child needs their annual well visit, a sports physical, or both, we have you covered. If your child is due for both, no need to schedule 2 appointments, we can cover it all under an annual well visit.
Just need a sports physical? Our Urgent Care and Quick Care offices provide them by appointment.
To schedule an appointment, visit akronchildrens.org/appointments.
Angel of Hope Children’s Memorial - Stow, Ohio MEMORIAL BRICKS AVAILABLE FOR FALL 2024 PLACEMENT Helping bereaved parents and families since 2001, the Angel of Hope Children’s Memorial in Stow Silver Springs Cemetery was created to help those who suffer the death of a child. This beautiful memorial is a peaceful place for grieving parents whose children have died, before or after birth, to mourn, heal, and remember their beloved children. Over 800 bricks, all in memory of children, have been placed at the Angel of Hope Memorial. Bricks will continue to be sold throughout the year at a cost of $100, with placement in the Spring and Fall. These special bricks may be purchased in memory of any child, regardless of age or where the child was born or lived. They did not have to be Stow residents. Bricks may also be purchased as gifts in memory of a child or children. Following placement of the bricks, an inspirational ceremony will be held for the families and friends to honor their children who have become a part of the memorial. Brick order forms are available at the memorial in Silver Springs Cemetery at 5080 Stow Road, at our website www.stowangelofhope.com, or by calling Christine Moncheck at 330-285-0989. The brick order deadline is Friday, July 26th, 2024 for Fall placement. The brick ceremony will be held in October.

Register for the Elephant Run 5K in Orville, Ohio taking place on Saturday, July 27th! This fundraiser is to support "Forget-Me-Not-Baskets, Inc," an organization that has supported our palliative care families for many years.
Who/what is "Forget-Me-Not-Baskets, Inc."?
It is a non-profit organization founded in 2007. We provide bereavement baskets to families who have experienced a loss during pregnancy or childbirth so that families do not leave the hospital with empty arms. We know that our baskets cannot take away the pain of families grieving a loss, but our hope is to provide support during their difficult time.
