We have a great partnership with Alabaster City Schools, and are excited to send the THS football team off to Tuscaloosa tomorrow to play in Wednesday night's 7A state championship!
This afternoon, THS cheerleaders painted "Go Warriors! Win State!" on the front of the Alabaster Police Station (along the route the team will take when leaving tomorrow).
Our Public Works Department also worked with ACS to place jersey signs for each football player in the median of Highway 31 near I-65.
We're proud of you, Warriors! Bring home another championship!

Congratulations to G&G Loft Boutique on its grand opening at 224 Kent Stone Blvd., Suite 200! We had a great time celebrating this new business with a ribbon cutting this morning.
Due to the potential for heavy rains and a few scattered thunderstorms tomorrow morning, we will be postponing the Christmas parade originally scheduled for tomorrow until next Saturday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m.
We made this decision after much consideration after speaking with the National Weather Service Birmingham office and having several floats cancel due to weather concerns.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the parade next Saturday!
Please note tonight's water tower lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. will proceed as scheduled.
We had a great time hosting a ribbon cutting for the newly opened Michaels Stores in the Promenade shopping center this morning! They've been open for a few weeks and have been very successful. Stop by and welcome them to town!

We've received several reports recently from residents about the timing of traffic signals at the major intersections along U.S. 31 in the city, and have brought those concerns to ALDOT.
As a result, a contractor for ALDOT is currently in the process of adjusting signal timing at these intersections to help improve traffic flow throughout the city. We appreciate ALDOT for working to address these concerns!
City Council President Sophie Martin gives a recap of last night's council meeting, including awarding a bid for a new traffic signal on Highway 119 at Veterans Park!
