environment to foster physical, emotional and social growth in each child. Our
After School Care Program is housed in 16 Shelby County Elementary and
Intermediate Schools. We operate Monday-Friday from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Our

Students attending Summer Camp at Calera Intermediate, Forest Oak Elementary, Inverness Elementary, and Helena Elementary had a special visitor today! Guava, Shelby County Schools’ facility dog, came to teach the students about how she was trained and what her job entails. She also was more than happy to show how she obeys commands, pose for pictures, and get in a few hugs and cuddles! 🦮🐾

Today, Calera Intermediate 'Imagination Destination' had a blast bowling at Oak Mountain Lanes!!
Wednesday at Calera Intermediate School Imagination Destination, we enjoyed a pre-Independence Day celebration that got off to an AMAZING start thanks to our own Calera Fire Department! They were so awesome, and the kids had a blast playing in the water.
We had an inflatable water slide from All About Fun Inflatables, along with other water games, and face painting by Lisa Eckman Phipps, CAIS’s own Art teacher extraordinaire!
On Tuesday, Intermediate School Imagination Destination visited the splash pad at the Finley Center in Hoover. Fun was had by all!
That afternoon, we colored Captain Underpants themed pictures and Miss Shae led some of the students in a yoga session!
Last week’s theme was Captain Underpants, and we kicked it off with some fun crafts, an impromptu dress up day, and more! Calera Intermediate School Summer Camp - Imagination Destination
CAIS Imagination Destination wrapped up the week with Charlie-and-the-Chocolate-Factory-themed crafts and snacks!
We had a Wonka dress up day. We made gum ball dispensers while imitating Violet (turning blue). We made some edible golden tickets. To top it off, we were able to cool off with some Kona Ice!
This week, the CAIS Imagination Destination campers theme is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Today, the campers enjoyed decorating mushroom shaped cookies by Dixie Sweet, inspired by the movie W***y Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

July 27: CAES Road Trip Daze Summer Camp had a blast at our ICE CREAM PARTY!!! Campers could get vanilla, chocolate or cookies & cream ice cream with their choice of rainbow sprinkles, chocolate chips, m&m, caramel syrup, chocolate syrup, and whip cream!!!
