Pawssage
I have been massaging dogs for 13 years. My specialty is competition dogs. My favorites are seniors.
For the human part of the team, you need to make sure you keep your muscles and joints warm as the weather gets colder and more damp. You also need to warm yourself up prior to becoming your canine athlete's guide in competition. There are a lot of hips and knees being replaced in the dog sport community. Take as good of yourself as you do your dog!!.
The weather is beginning to get cold. Remember your canine companions are acclimated to the temperature of your home. Early mornings at trials, are going to be chilly. Depending on where you live, it is getting to be jacket time. You need to keep those athletic muscles warm. Older dogs are like older people, their metabolic responses slow and they are prone to being colder as they age.
Hey agility peeps. I have a few interesting questions about some issues that I have been pondering. People have been researching the types of injuries our canine pals get from doing agility. I wonder if there are types of injuries that are prevalent in the handlers.
1. How many of you have had knee or hip surgery? What was your age at the time? ( Respond 1 knee- age 54..1 knee age 60)
2. What kinds of injuries have kept you out of agility for a period of time? At what age?
Looking forward to seeing everyone at TRACS. It has been a long time.
This is the first time in 11 years that I have not been celebrating with my agility friends. It has been a long, complicated year. Hopefully, by the summer, we will be able to truly see the light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone please be safe. I will not go to Nationals this year. I hope most people skip for their safety. Your dog will not know that they missed anything. Take them on a hike and be happy that you are able to safely spend time with them.
I am going to be at Leone on Sunday for sure and hopefully Saturday.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Woodland at Titlemania. All the goats should have had babies. So I will be free just before my next surgery.
I will be at USDAA Bay Team in Santa Rosa. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
I will be at the Thanksgiving trial in Rancho Murieta. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Safe travels to those going to Cynosport. Enjoy your time with you canine buddies, your friends, and the new friends sharing the puppy love bond.
If anyone is interested, I will be at Invitationals.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Harvest Moon trial.
Had a great time at Bay Team regionals. There were tons of puppies. Over the years, I have watched my pups get out of their crates and stretch. I figure out what appears to be
it's normal stretch. I put that stretch " on command." You can use it as guide to help (along with other factors) assess the flexibility of your dog. My dogs throw that behavior when in trouble lol.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at USDAA Regionals at Manzanita Park. Hopefully, you will get to meet "Boss."
Think about whether going for a Q or playing agility is worth the possible consequences of exercising in 100+ degrees. It is still 100 whether in shade or misters.
Safe travels to everyone making their way to Ferndale. One of my favorite sites. Enjoy the area and have fun.
I will see everyone at WTT. Looking forward to watching all of you have fun and getting my hands on my buddies.
Good luck to everyone in Tulsa. Remember you have already succeeded. Now see how much icing on the cake you will earn. The measurement of the icing includes the entire experience, not just the seconds in the ring!
I will be at Viszla on Saturday the 2nd and Cocker Saturday the 9th. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Happy new year to everyone. I will be out for about a month due to sinus surgery next week. If you are going to NAC Tulsa, contact me via email or text to get directions to reserve slots. Be safe during winter driving.
Lotus, Jo, and I will be at Rancho Murieta this weekend. Hope to see some of you there. Drive safe in this weather.
Jo, Lotus, and I are looking forward to seeing everyone at Del Valle all weekend.
I just got my website fixed for Cynosport. I will send the password to those I have already spoken with. Others text me (209-986-7428) or email me ([email protected]) for password.
😁
I will be at Vast USDAA on Saturday. See you there.
Well Done to everyone that participated, worked, and supported competitors at USDAA Regionals at Manzanita Park. The weather was great for the dogs. Too cold for those of us in the valley. This was my full weekend back since March. Had a great weekend catching up with everyone and meeting new dogs and people. It is all about the journey. We must remember that our journey with our canine companions is too short. So embrace both the ups and the downs.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Prunedale this weekend.
I will be at the Mensona trial this Saturday. The dogs and look forward to seeing everyone.
I will be at Bay Team USDAA regionals on Labor day weekend. See you there.
I will be at the PWD trial all day Sunday. See you there.
I will be making my way down to Thorson Ranch Saturday. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
We all know the stories of the goffy boys running agility. These boys are so goffy in their cannoodling that Lisa can barely walk them together.
While rehabbing my shoulder, I took some cool farm pictures. I have not been up here since early April.
Thought I would make the combined trial in Prunedale tomorrow and Sunday. I think my shoulder needs a few more weeks.
What not to do. Try and surf your dog in rough shape when you are the shortest, oldest one with large dog. I will go to the Golden show at Leone for a day. But I will not be at any shows for probably 3 months. I have what they call a massive rotator cuff tear. So as of Monday, I will be sitting around in ice and in a sling for 6 weeks. Luckily, my son has time to come and care for me and the dogs. Now I need to find a surgery dude to take Barb surfing 😉
There is a REALLY good human massage person coming to Reno. Blue has been to quite a few NorCal and SoCal trials. I highly recommend her. You can make appointments by going to this site.

Because I will be at AKC Nationals and I cannot participate in the March for Our Lives, I am donating $100 to the cause from my income at the show. Support those young people and their supporters as the go up against the legislators bought and paid for by the NRA.
There are 10 days before I start massaging at Nationals. I am keeping slots for regular clients. If you have not gotten in touch with me, please do. I need you to fill out a form so I can keep track of everyone. For those of you worrying about driving conditions, Les Schwab had a policy that if you don't use the chains you purchase from then, they will buy them back after April. Also, try to time your trip so going through potential snow, ice areas mid day, so less chance of problems.
