2024 begann genau so wie 2023 endete, weiterhin gibt es den Ukraine Konflikt und auch im Gazastreifen zeichnet sich keinerlei Erholung ab, im Gegenteil in den letzten Wochen und Monaten hat sich die Lage eher noch verschärft mit Auseinandersetzungen auf den Golanhöhen und der weiteren Einmischung des Irans. Eine mögliche Eskalation ist nicht auszuschließen.

Das erste Monat des Jahres 2024 ist um und schon trudeln die Wirtschaftsprognosen für das ganze Jahr ein. Für die EU sieht es nicht so rosig aus, das prognostizierte Wirtschaftswachstum liegt unter 1%, besser steht die USA da, deren Prognose liegt bei über 2,5% Wachstum.

The first month of 2024 is over and the economic forecasts for the whole year are already coming in. Things don't look so rosy for the EU, the forecast economic growth is less than 1%, the USA is doing better, its forecast is over 2.5% growth.

Nobody had expected this, a war in Israel. The market was very turbulent in October and we struggled to maintain our positions and find sensible investments. But despite all adversities, the VMJV was able to generate a profit in the 4th quarter. The market calmed down in November and good markups were recorded in December. All of this resulted in a dividend of $1.59 per share or 3.62%.

Damit hatte nun keiner gerechnet, ein Krieg in Israel. Im Oktober war der Markt sehr turbulent und wir hatten zu kämpfen unsere Positionen zu halten und vernünftige Anlagen zu finden. Doch trotz aller Widrigkeiten, war es der VMJV möglich im 4. Quartal einen Gewinn zu erwirtschaften. Im November beruhigte sich der Markt und im Dezember waren dann gute Aufschläge zu verzeichnen.
