TONIGHT! Sit'n'Spin Record Night is back in action, though on a different Sunday than usual due to holiday tetrising...
It’s a show & tell/ listening party/ social gathering for vinyl nerds, with Kyle Silfer hosting and Old School John with the sound system.
Bring a bunch of records you'd like to share some tracks from, and there will be a signup sheet. Try to play about three tracks for a set of 15 mins or less, and then sign up again after finishing your set, to get back in the rotation.
@ The ABQ Press Club (201 Highland Park Cir SE), starting 6:30pm, No Cover. We’ll probably be in a room downstairs tonight. The bar area is off-limits to minors, but everywhere else is okay to be under 21. You don't have to be a Press Club member to get involved; visitors just need to sign in as guest of Kyle Silfer.

THIS SUNDAY, Oct. 22 - ABQ Fermentation and Fungi Fest 2023!
DJ Caterwaul will be spinning vinyl sonic zymurgy ALL DAY at this really cool event, both indoors and outside. There will be all sorts of NM-based food and farmer vendors, fermented cocktail bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, local beer & wine, workshops, Battle of the Breads, educational booths, a kids area and a whole lot more.

3 years to the day since the last time Caterwaul spun at Sister. It’s like, an epic poem or sumthing bro... anyways, come on out tonight foo! These are some quality local sound merchants on the stage, and good people, too.

TONIGHT: It’s Caterwaul’s latenight WTF Mystery Movie Speakeasy pick again, eyeing some flicks, both hilarious and cringey, hovering around dubious notions of “Freedom” and/or “Enlightenment” - 'nuff said.
The WTF Mystery Movie Speakeasy is a weekly after-hours series that's been going steady for well over 6 years, with the only common denominator in the programming being that it's usually pretty obscure and will stick in your brain for a quite a while, for better or worse. It's your best bet for sitting in a darkened movie theater with fellow film nerds to watch some weirdo, mondo, DIY, arty, edgy, grimy, psychotronic, exploitation, B(or Z)-movie hybrid genre flick you've never seen before, and definitely can't unsee. Sometimes we even play good movies!
@ Guild Cinema (3405 Central Ave NE), FREE to those in the know, starts 10:30pm sharpish! BYO good vibes & common sense. And as rowdy as things may get, please keep in mind: we're here to watch a movie, not you.
