The Bernalillo County NM CARE Campus’ “Peer Living Room” program has been honored with a 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for its innovative approach to providing vital services to residents! 🏅

The Peer Living Room program provides various resources, including crisis intervention, support from peer counselors with personal experience managing mental illness, and intervention from professional counselors who teach de-escalation skills and develop safety plans.

Special Olympics New Mexico is special in our hearts ❤️ Part of our spent the morning this past Saturday volunteering during the long-jump and bocce ball events - having a blast cheering on all the incredible athletes.

Our Principal, Del Dixon has been an active champion and advocate of Special Olympics NM for decades and invited our staff to participate as corporate volunteers for this years 2024 State Summer Games! 🏅🤸🏽‍♂️🤾🏻‍♂️

National Rescue Dog Day sounds like it should be a national holiday to our crew.

It’s no secret we’re an office full of dog lovers from our very special office dog Petunia to all the amazing dogs that enrich the lives of our staff 🐶❤️

These dogs have been rescued over multiple generations from organizations throughout Albuquerque and even some as far as Milwaukee!

Tell your dogs we said hi today and be sure to give them extra treats, Petunia’s orders… 😉

The newly reconfigured and redesigned third floor courtroom and hearing room at the Bernalillo County Courthouse was designed with safety, efficiency. technology, and occupant-well being in mind. This new courtroom establishes a new standard for the future of BCCH.

Exploring the nearly complete Australia Phase 1 project at the ABQ BioPark Zoo with students from UNM SA+P was an absolute blast on Friday! 🐨🐧

At our firm, fostering connections with our community through outreach is integral to our culture. These project tours offer invaluable real-life educational experiences for students, bridging the gap between academia and practical knowledge. Our sweet Petunia celebrated her 9️⃣th birthday today! She is such a special part of our office and we made sure to spoil her a little extra today with treats, ear scratches, and a walk around Old Town. 🐶

She was even nice enough to bring in cupcakes for all of us to celebrate! 🧁

This activity was lead by President Ron Burstein, who has been involved with AHNM for many years - even adopting his sweet dog Jet from here in 2020.

Eric is a well-known architect in the Albuquerque community, with his experience and talent elevating the commitment to design excellence throughout our office. Eric’s dedication to clients, community, and the craft make him a valuable asset to the firm’s leadership team.

In practice since 1998, Eric’s multi-state experience spans downtown lofts, retail, residential, hospitality, medical, historic renovation, and adaptive reuse projects. As architect for the Sawmill Market food hall and several subsequent tenant build-outs, his work has contributed to a thriving new urban center just steps from the Studio SW office.

He is interested in environmental sustainability, product design, resourcefulness, materials, art, public space, and placemaking, and yearly leads a workshop to create a rammed earth chair with UNM architecture students. He holds a Bachelor’s of Environmental Design from Texas A&M (1998) and a Master of Architecture (2010) from UNM.

Anyone that’s visited our office has most likely met our adorable office dog Petunia - and anyone that meets her knows how sweet & full of personality she is!

Well, Petunia recently reached a new career milestone and became a certified therapy dog!🏅 Her mom, Michelle said they are both looking forward to this new journey of volunteering in our community to help comfort those who need it.

Architect & Project Manager extraordinaire Donna Marion, AIA, recently participated in the Meet a Scientist Day at Explora!

Our station was set up with activities for different age levels and interests, with the ever so popular marshmallow and toothpick building exercise helping kids to understand how simple shapes can be transformed into 3D structures! We also laid out a floor plan of the Explora lobby with different furniture cut outs to help older kids play around with space planning and interior design concepts.

Our goal was to help visitors understand how art and design go hand-in-hand with science to create all the spaces we inhabit. 🏘

We had a great time at this morning's Loma Linda Community Center Groundbreaking with representatives from City of Albuquerque, the ABQ Community, and Weil Construction.

We're honored to be a part of such an incredible project for the Loma Linda community and greatly enjoyed getting to hear from the community how excited and needed the improvements to this facility are.

Our design team has worked hard to get to this point and intentionally designed the renovation and addition to be a welcoming, useful, and healthy environment for everyone.

This year, we're shining the spotlight on Principal 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻, who served in the Navy from 1977-1981. During this time he was stationed onboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Coral Sea - with his homeport in Alameda, CA - when Disco was still alive and well. 🕺

During his time aboard the USS Coral Sea, he toured the Pacific Ocean and worked as an Aviation Ordnanceman, who was in charge of loading ordinance on to the jets right before take-off. ✈

On this day, we take pause to honor Andy and all other Veterans for their service to our Country. 🇺🇸
