While highly treatable with options ranging from OTC eye drops to prescription medications, untreated dry eye disease can lead to more serious health issues. An electrifying showdown took place at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville for the 33rd annual AOSA Optometry Student Bowl powered by EssilorLuxottica.

Representatives from 26 optometry schools competed for prizes and bragging rights, answering questions from an esteemed panel. Over 700 enthusiastic students and alumni gathered with signs and noisemakers to cheer on their schools. Congratulations to this year's winner, Tyson Montgomery from The Ohio State University College of Optometry! 🏅

This week, Ashley Mills represented The Vision Council at the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB)’s 2030 In Sight Live in Mexico City. Attendees learned more about IAPB’s campaign, celebrated and discussed strategies for launching global campaigns and making a lasting impact.

🎓 Exciting News! 🎓 The Vision Council Foundation announced a record-breaking number of opticianry school graduates this year who benefitted from scholarships supporting students from underserved communities pursuing a career as a licensed optician. The Opening Your Eyes Scholarship Fund, which launched in 2021 backed by donations from members of The Vision Council, provided financial assistance and career opportunities to 16 newly licensed opticians.
