We embrace an emergent, constructivist approach to learning that holds the child as capable, competent, an
We love student led projects! In the sharks class a student brought in ornaments and the class decided to decorate them. Eventually the class will hang up the ornaments for decoration.

Shabbat Shalom! Beth El wishes you and your family a peaceful shabbat and weekend. We are excited to see our students back in the classroom on monday!
Next week we will be closed on Thursday 11/23 and Friday 11/24 due to Thanksgiving.
In the wombats class we give the students opportunities to choose what to engage in. they have taken a large interest in puzzles and enjoy playing with them!
Puzzles help build and improve cognitive skills in young children. Puzzles can help build special awareness and pattern recognition which are both very helpful skills to develop. At Beth El we make sure to continually foster the development of theses skills and more!
Shavua Tov! Beth El wishes you and your family a good and peaceful week. We are happy to see the kiddos back the the classroom this week!

Shabbat Shalom! Beth El wishes you and your family a peaceful shabbat and weekend. We are excited to see our students back in the classroom on monday!
At Beth El we encourage our students to engage in building/play with many different resources. These resources not only include traditional building blocks, but also include non-traditional building materials such a large spools and wood cookies. This allows children to engage in gross motor play that helps not only develop their coordination but also expand their imaginative abilities!
Beth El and Growing Jewish Families welcome you to come join us on Saturday November 11th and 5PM for S’mores and havdalah! Feel free to bring a picnic with you to enjoy before havdalah.
Please RSVP by Wednesday November 8th through this link: https://forms.gle/UYARNC7AQRAUxLD7A
We look forward to seeing everyone there!
At Beth El we feel that it is important for our students to spend time outside and in nature! On top of spending lots of time on the playground, our students spend lots of time exploring our beautiful nature trail. This gives them the opportunity to interact directly with the natural world. This also encourages gross motor development as there are many places for safe climbing on the trail.
The nature trail is safe, accessible, and fun for all age groups at our school. There is a clearly marked and partially paved path for students that do not want to/ can not climb on rougher parts of the trail. There are also many parts of the trail that involve climbing which keeps older and more adventurous students engaged. This ensures that every student is able to enjoy their time on the trail!
Shavua Tov! Beth El wishes you and your family a good and peaceful week. We are happy to see thw kiddos back the the classroom this week!
At Beth El our students spend a lot of the day outside on the playground and nature trail! We belive that giving our students time outside helps with their development in many ways. First they are given the opportunity to engage in gross motor play through climbing, running, and sliding. They are also given the opportunity to engage in fine motor play through building with many different natural materials such a sticks, stones, and acorns. Finally they are given the opportunity to engage in imaginative play which helps expand their cognitive abilities!
Our students love our reggio inspired playground. Our playground has many different play areas including a sand pit, climbing rocks/slide, climbing tree, stepping blocks, a music area, and a teepee made from tree branches!
At Beth El we give our students many different opportunities to engage with natural materials that we collect from our playground and nature trail! While students can engage with these materials outdoors, we feel that they should be given the opportunity to engage with them during inside exploration as well. This allowes for more open ended play/creating which helps stimulate the students developing brain.
In the toddler class our students are given natural loose parts to play/create with. They are able to combine these natural elements with recycled materials such a cardboard to build various different things. these opportunities not only stimulate the students developing brain, but it also helps develop both fine motor and gross motor skills!
Shabbat Shalom! Beth El wishes you and your family and peaceful and restful shabbat and weekend. We are excited to see our students back in the classroom on monday!
At Beth El our students are given many opportunities each week to engage in art. We create a space to help foster each students unique creative process. Students are given the space to create many different pieces of art on their own or as a group.
Creating different art pieces helps students develop both their fine motor skills and gross motor skills. Beth El recognizes that the development of these skills is important for the overall development of each child. We make sure to help each student grow both mentally and physically. Engaging in art is a great way to do both!

Then, later in the day all of the classes join together with Cantor Jason to bring in shabbat with joyous music! This helps us instill the importance of shabbat in our students.

At Beth El we foster the children's natural curiosity through student inspired science experiments. Our educators listen to what the children are interested in and help them explore these topics though hands on explorations such as the one pictured here.
This year our shark's class has begun to explore different topics that are based in water. These topics include discussions and experiments about the sea as well as discussions about density and what common objects are able to float in water!
