We leave the grounds of our little school in the woods with children who are more confident, resilient and loved- Tauxemont will forever be a part of the family! Don’t ever stop playing, taking risks and growing your curiosity!

It was a day of helping our friends on the grounds of Tauxemont! The children worked together to build their firetruck, requiring frequent balance tests to ensure their friends could safely board once rescued! Inside during morning table time, hospitals were built, complete with packed waiting rooms and beds. The magic of parent helping days is being able to witness your children grow with their classmates and master the art of teamwork!

It is getting warmer, rain is coming and the snow is melting. But, the students have discovered their much loved, colorful ice globes that had been covered in snow, hidden in the darkness of the block shed are smaller and softer, but they are still around to enjoy for another day. This wasn’t an experiment, they were playing- keeping the gems away from the bad guys. Other gems left out, unprotected, have melted, but these treasures remain. This is why children need to play.
Our morning classes finally returned to campus today excited to get out in the snow… what a treat to spy brightly colored globes hidden around the campus!
Last week the 4s put water balloons in the freezer, today students enjoyed having beautiful ice globes to carry around, break into pieces and to just sit with and enjoy. A wonderful addition to the snow and cold.

Animals have always been an important part of Tauxemont. These pets welcome the children and can help ease the transition to school, they encourage responsibility and bring joy. They become a part of our classroom community. Over the years chickens, Guinea pigs, fish, snails and rabbits have called Tauxemont home. Two years ago we welcomed Fergus to our school. With his size and mischievous personality he quickly became a superstar. Roaming freely in our classrooms, traveling around campus, inside and out he was known by all. Sadly Fergus passed away on Thursday. He will be sorely missed but we appreciate all he brought to our community.
