When a relationship fractures, do we know how to heal it? When a bone fractures and heals, it's stronger in that place than it ever was before. "Fracture and Endure" is just one of the concepts that we teach our Mentoring Families. But it doesn't take place in one conversation. It takes place in real time, in messy situations, in relationships with youth who can be very easily triggered because of past trauma. Our relationship managers walk hand-in-hand with our youth and mentoring families for the first year of connection through monthly check-ins and ongoing support. Beyond that, our team is always available should the youth or family need us. Throughout the lifelong connection they have formed, one thing is certain. Fracture will most certainly take place. But the question is, how can we endure through it, grow stronger and even benefit from it? Our team is in this for the long haul, supporting lifelong connections in the messy middle.
