There will be one more picture day. Nov 4. If you missed your team appointment, stop by and the photographers will do their best to slot you in between the other teams for an individual photo.

The first few (5?) times someone plays goalkeeper, during a game, expect them to freeze in terror as the ball goes through their legs. Only an actual match, with everyone running all around and shouting, can prepare you for this unique athletic challenge. So if you want to give it a try, now's the time, so that you have a few matches behind you before the playoffs. Be encouraging to your new keeper, so they'll want to get more experience before they play on your high school team in a few years. Everyone makes the playoffs, anyhow.

The old ez-up lasted 12 years. The new ones are here for you to take a break in the shade, grab a blank game card, or celebrate refereeing a game with a Donut Of Victory! Grandparents, help yourselves to a water bottle, too.

Offside?

A player is in an offside position when any part of their head, body* or feet is:
➡ in the opponents’ half (the halfway line does not count) and
➡ closer to the opponents’ goal line than both:
– the ball and
– the second-last opponent (including the goalkeeper)

*The hands and arms of all players, including the goalkeepers, are not considered.

A player is NOT in an offside position when they are:
➡ in their own half or on the halfway line
➡ behind or in line (level) with the ball
➡ behind or in line (level) with the second-last opponent
➡ in the opponents’ goal, as long as they are not committing an offside offence, e.g. interfering with the goalkeeper or a defender

Important to remember:

1️⃣ The player’s position for offside is determined at the moment the ball is played or touched by one of their team-mates.

2️⃣ A player in an offside position is not penalised if they do not commit an offside offence.
