Hi Amherst Families,

Unfortunately, we can't have our summer picnic this year due to scheduling issues. But, we can still be creative and have fun with my virtual classes! You and your child can do them anytime before August 3rd, when when you will submit the projects to the fair. I'll provide details on what to expect closer to the date.

My classes include driftwood art, food sculpture, mosaics, and painted glass. Each class is only $5 per child, and you can pick up a kit with all the materials you need. Please let me know if you're interested, and you can pay via Zelle or other cash apps, or drop off the money when you pick up the kit. I'll send the videos via text, email, and Facebook. Looking forward to seeing your creations!

Dear Parents,

This is a friendly reminder that only the children will be making the flower arrangements during the class. 🌺🌻🌼πŸͺ»Elaine has been gracious enough to donate all of the materials, so there is only enough for the children. However, parents are more than welcome to help out!🏡🏡

Please also remember to bring a sharp pair of scissors to class.⭐️

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Hello Amherst Families,

We have a slight change of plans for preparing the Children's Garden for our native pollinator garden tomorrow, May 4th, as part of "I Love My Park Day."

Instead of meeting at 10am, we will now gather at 2pm in the back parking lot, in front of the large building. Look for us near the steps leading into the actual park. The park's address is 390 Mill St. Please see the attached Map, we will meet at point "E."

Even if you can't join us for the entire hour, I encourage you to stop by for even just 10 minutes and lend a hand. Remember to bring along water bottles, gardening gloves, and tools. Don't worry if you don't have these supplies; I'll have extras on hand.

Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you there

Happy New Year! πŸŽ‰ As we embark on this fresh chapter, let's kick off our creative journey together at our next meeting on January 10, 2023 from 6:30-8:00pm at HRCC.

Our next meeting is all about making paper out of recycled materials πŸ“„βœ‚οΈ !!

Kindly start gathering materials like computer/printer paper, envelopes, old stationary, greeting cards (glitter-free), paper bags, maps, sheet music, wrapping paper, and cardstock. Please avoid newspapers, newsprint paper with heavy ink, glossy magazines, and construction paper (as colors fade quickly).

Please cut/rip them into approximately 1-inch pieces, and separate by color. Please let me know if you will have materials that I can pick up. I'll be picking up the scraps on Tuesday night, January 9, 2023, to soak them before our class.

Please bring along 2 hand towels and a box to take your creations home in. The crafting fee per participant is $5. Please send fee through venmo/zelle/cash app/paypal or bring cash to our meeting. Thank you

Looking forward to a crafty and joyful time together!

Hi Amherst Families,
One of our service projects for the year will be participating in The Home Again program through Journey's End Refugee Services! The Home Again Program is a unique opportunity for volunteer groups to work with Journey's End to make a house a warm, welcoming home for a newly-arriving refugee family. Refugee families arrive with little to no resources for establishing households during their first few months of resettlement. Journey's End relies heavily on donations from the community to provide these families with essential home furnishings, such as tables, couches, dressers, dishes, etc., and other household items like toiletries and cleaning supplies.

As you can imagine, the list of donations needed to complete the Home Again Program is very long. It will take us a few months to gather all of the items. I will email you the list and also hand it out at our next meeting. Please feel free to ask friends, relatives, neighbors, church groups, and other community organizations to help donate items to us for this program. Thank you
