Ambassadors Twirling Corps.
Our Corps began in the 1970’s under the name of The Getzville Senior-Junior Drum and Twirling Corps, Inc. In September of 2003 Mrs.
Founder, Isabel Dettmer, organized this non-profit group that included baton twirlers as well as a large drum corps. Since the beginning, the Corps participated in many parades, local contests, as well as traveling to contests such as States, Regional’s and Nationals. In 1991 the Corps changed its name to the Amherst Ambassadors. Dettmer retired from running the Amherst Ambassadors and for one yea
Our 4th of July parade was so much fun! It was the first parade for our Stars and they not only loved it they did great! The weather was hot but thankfully there were a lot of clouds to help cool it down a bit! We are all so excited for the next parade!
Last month it was a HOT Wednesday! Tina offered her home for us to practice outside and swim - what a great idea! The girls had so much fun together, they are all the sweetest things!!
This past weekend our Ambasaadors Gold Team traveled to NYS Championships for the first time and came home with the NYS Beginner Small Dance Twirl Title! We are so proud of them - they put the best routine they ever did one the floor this weekend! All the girls also competed individually and placed well in their events!! Love each of these girls and their amazing parents!!
Finally!! All three of these girls can consistently catch this! Took a while for them to all accomplish together but the happiness and excitement they felt at practice last night was worth it!

Wednesday night’s are the best nights!!
First travel contest ever for these girls in the books! So proud of this team - of their performance, how they handled themselves on and off the floor, how they would be at each others lane to watch their teammate so they could cheer and hug as they got off the floor, and the smiles and excitement on their faces all day long!! We are really so blessed to have the sweetest and kindest girls to work with - and their parents are just as amazing too!!!
Our team traveled to Indiana, PA for TwirlFest today. This will be their first travel competition and we’re all so excited! We arrived at the hotel around 3pm, had some team and individual practice at the hotel, the girls all went swimming and had dinner, then surprised their coaches and practiced some more on their own! So far they’ve had a blast together!!
Last weekend was the first contest of the season and these girls had a great time!
